So is the consensus that Longoria shoulda let that ball go last night?

Yeah. I didn't see a good view of it live because I was at work doing layout, but when I saw the replay later, I was wondering why he didn't just let it go. There was virtually no chance of getting Ruiz at home and it looked like it was going towards the dirt. And if it goes over the edge of the grass on the dirt, chances are it will roll foul.

I think the Rays may be in some trouble. Just like Game 1 for the Phillies, this one is a must win for Tampa because I don't see them beating Hamels tomorrow. And really, if you can't knock around Jamie Moyer or Joe Blanton, you probably don't deserve to win the series anyway.

They're in some really pretty ____ now. Anything can happen but like you I don't see them hitting Hamels tonight. Their bats have officially shut down. Not likely they'll wake up for the lefty ace.

Joe Blanton? Homer? Really? That is kinda awesome.

And this series is over most likley. Ryan Howard is on, and when he is.. well we see what happens.

But yes, lets just get this over with.

Joe Buck just said, "it's an official game," but he could be wrong. It wouldn't be the first time.

If McCarver had said it, then you could bank on it that they would have to play all 9.

How the heck can Upton plant his feet, let alone steal a base with such ease when the field is like that?

This is embarrassing. I'm shocked that Major League Baseball would allow a championship game to be decided in these conditions.

What were they supposed to do? Once this game started, it was getting completed. It wasn't that bad when the game started.

Stunned, BJ didn't wipe out rounding third.

Now delay it, you helped the Phillies/Hamels as much as possible.

But it's only going to be this bad or worse for another hour or two. This is awful. Whichever team loses is getting screwed royally.

You don't determine an important game, let alone the potential World Series-clincher in conditions like this.

FINALLY.

What would MLB have done if Upton tore something?

Why is Buck talking like they would somehow allow the World Series to be decided in a rain shortened game. I don't care if they had to wait until 4am, there is no way that would happen.

I agree. It's not the regular season, Joe. It's the potential deciding game of the WS.

I wouldn't want to be the person to tell the Rays that there season ends in the 6th inning down only 2-1 (Yes, I know it's 2-2 now, but when Buck was saying these things it was 2-1).

It would feel empty to be a Phils fan/player to win on rain-shortened game.

Not to depress anyone, but man can you imagine if this were the Cubs and we were in the same situation as the Phillies? Just waiting waiting waiting.
