Complete domination of Georgia and Clemson isn't enough for some respect?

 

I hate Alabama and really hate defending them, but this is a very good team.

Beating Clemson is not impressive. They're 3-4.

 

And 41-30 over UGA (31-0 at halftime)

 

Alabama is a very inconsistent team. At their best they're as good as anybody. At their worst, they're that.

 

And even with this domination of Mizzou, I seriously question Texas' defense. They've shut down teams like Rice, UTEP and FAU, but does anybody really think that means anything? They've played two games against real teams, allowing 35 points to OU and 3 points to Mizzou. How good is that defense?

 

yeah, and oklahoma and mizzou have far better offenses than any single team in the sec, what's your point?

 

Most SEC teams, yes. I still think UGA and Bama have good to very good offenses - though worse than the Big XII teams.

the whole argument is moot, anyway. alabama isn't going to run the table. if they don't go down at lsu, they'll hiccup against a bad team.

 

I agree with this. No way Bama finishes the year unbeaten.

 

I could easily see them with 2 losses going into their bowl game.

 

Tennessee, Arkansas State, LSU, MSU and Auburn are left on Alabama schedule. MSU and Arky State are IMO locks for wins for Bama. I won't call anything against LSU or Tennessee locks, but beating one or both of them is a real possibility. but if I had my guess it would be Alabama beating Tennesse and losing to LSU. And Auburn, this will be a blowout win for Alabama. That team is so close---if they haven't already---to quitting on Tuberville it is not even funny. I do agree to a point Alabama COULD lose two games with their remaining game, but highly unlikely. Right now, I would put Alabama's chances at running the table at 50/50 cause their schedule is definately favorable for them to run it.

In fairness, the gap between OSU and USC is much wider than the gap between Minnesota and Illinois. Minnesota is hugely improved this year.
