I'm not really sure what to make of this. I got an e-mail from the Blues today offering two tickets to four games (8 total) for $76. That includes all fees. Could pick any remaining games, and for one of the games the tix would be upgraded to lower level. Oh, and a free puck autographed by Oshie.

I did it. That's too much hockey for too little money. And I got lower level Hawks tickets for January 17 for nearly nothing. And I get to see the Flyers, Rangers and Wings to boot.

I say I'm not really sure what to make of it because I thought the Blues were doing better than this. I think they are anticipating interest dropping off big time after the new year as the team is really going in the tank. I hope they continue to draw decent, and I like that they are lowering ticket prices to get people into the building.

But season-ticket holders are left holding the bag. The STH price for the tickets I just got is $22/game. I just got them for $9.50 each. Wow.

I know. It's insane. I'd have understood if these were the worst seats in the house for Tuesday night games. But they aren't. The upper level seats are between the blue lines, rows 3-7. And three are Saturdays and the other is Monday night against the Rangers. I'm sort of kicking myself now because I'd already bought tickets to the February 13 Hawks game here. I could have waited and gotten them much cheaper.

Wow haven't even seen anywhere that the league is reviewing the Crosby incident... if they don't then this league is truly a sham when it comes to disciplinary actions.

100% agreed. I hadn't seen the video until just now. What kind of pansy punches people with his gloves on. I like that Crosby has a physical element to his game. Someday I hope Toews and Kane do the same. But that's just ridiculous. He needs to get his ass whipped by someone.

I really dont care that much that the league isnt reviewing it. It just bothers me that when Pittsburgh plays Atlanta again, anyone on Atlanta who looks at Crosby is probably going to get a game misconduct. The NHL has always had a police it yourself mentality, except there is no way that they are going to allow Eric Boulton to kick the crap out of Crosby. So Crosby will basically get away with it.

Which will make me even more pissed, but you're probably right. I really hope that little turd gets his ass beat, and bad.

On second thought, I am not as mad at Crosby as I am at the NHL for babying him and letting him get away with crap like this... I DO hate how he cries to the refs constantly, though...

I am well aware of how talented Crosby is, and I don't hate him because he is good... I would even complain if Kane started doing this kind of crap.

Hopefully Kane's stickwork to the face of opponents who dare to check him was an isolated incident, or you may well be complaining...

Well the [expletive] admitted to it, that in itself should have gotten him one game !

LOL!!!!!!

Crosby hits in a puck with a high stick in over time for the win... and they give it to him because he cried to the refs... UNBELIEVABLE. I can't believe this... every game on Versus is like Monday night RAW... this is completely embarassing...

Don't call me a Crosby hater, this is blatant cheating.

i'm guessing it's more because there wasn't indisputable evidence to rule it no goal, but you could be right - the fact that he's a superstar and he cried to the refs could have swayed the decision in toronto.

He LITERALLY rolled up to the refs while they were reviewing and showed them what happened... he made the decision for them, that is just sad.

was the goal reviewed? if so, reviews are done by video by a central nhl office in toronto, so unless he skated all the way to toronto, i'm thinking you're probably wrong here.

Yea it's reviewed in the war room obviously I know that. Are you kidding me though, even the Versus announcers said no goal all along, all replays showed he knocked it in with a high stick, and it's called a goal.

I really dislike Crosby for his antics, but man this is a really really really bad call on the NHL. I KNOW Crosby didn't make the decision, it was sarcasm... but man is this bad.

Please don't let the fact that the Versus announcers didn't say no goal all along sway you in your crusade to rid the NHL of the talentless Sidney Crosby.

I may be going to the Canadiens - Lightning game a couple days before the Outback Bowl. It will be my first NHL game, what should I expect?

the game will be be a lot faster than you expect from watching it on tv.

I'm not at all... it's the fact the stick is above the crossbar when he batted it in.

Expect to be able to see everything going on, not just what the cameras show on TV. That's my favorite part, is being able to watch plays develop.

Hopefully the atmosphere will be good, but if the game is in Tampa I would imagine it won't.

Wow I just watched the highlights of the game winning goal last night(Crosby.) How they could review that and call it a goal is beyond me. I am not like Cynosure in my anti-Crosby nature, but if the NHL keeps this up, I might start having one.

I just watched it a few times. It didn't go off the very tip of his blade (which would have been highest off the ice). It hit off a bit up the shaft, which wasn't as high. The standard being the height of the crossbar, I don't think it's clear that it shouldn't have been a goal.

It was Crosby on national TV. It isn't Crosby's fault they called that a goal, or didn't suspend him for hitting someone in the back of the head and nuts while being held down... it's the NHL's... just watch the video I posted for those of you who haven't seen the "GOAL". To make it worse, it was in OT.

I used to really like Crosby until he started realizing he was the golden boy and started getting away with stuff he shouldn't. That being said, he is still an excellent hockey player.

Got this from the Sabres board @ HFboards... thanks for the new avatar :-D This reminds me of the AJ Pierzynski pic that circulated after his controversial call in the 05 playoffs.
