Truffle, did you watch last night's rangers/flyers game? What the heck happened on that first goal when they pushed the goalie into the net? I was there, and it looked to me that the ref lost sight of the puck, then took forever to do anything and finally decided he had to call it a goal when the goalie slid back.

i watched most of it but didn't see the goal. the refs probably should've blown the whistle but if they didn't, and the puck ended up in the net, there's no reason not to call it a goal unless you're making an interference call.

 

the main reason we lost was because we couldn't beat lundqvist and when we did, he got lucky with a couple of posts/crossbars.

That was weak... would have been fun to watch.

I know I shouldn't say it, but that was a dirty dirty hit on Avery. I don't care how much you hate him, that was a dangerous play... one of the main reasons I respect Avery over other goons is because he doesn't charge or try to injure people.

 

I am in no way saying Lupul is a dirty player, just saying that was a dirty hit and should get a fine at least.

 

Along with that, the Flyers made that last minute some intense playoff-caliber hockey! Shame they didn't get the W, would have loved to see them with home ice VS the Pittsburgh Refs.

the one positive thing about getting knocked out for a second straight year by the pens is that this time it will be in the first round and people will regard the flyers as having underachieved, so there's a chance that stevens will be fired. that would really make this year a success, frankly.
