So how do you guys think our offseason will go.

Here are areas we can stand to improve:

1B

SS

CF

RF

Bullpen (7th inning guy)

I'd love to get a complete dominant hitter. Doesn't matter the position.

the bad thing is, center field is really the only position Hendry will try to upgrade. you know they're going to giving the stupid asian another chance since they signed him to a ridiculous contract.

Honestly, at the time, everyone loved it. Don't forget that.

People who pay attention to Japanese hitters didn't

yeah, okay...

What did 1908 say about Fuk?

there's nothing wrong with the organization. let's stop pretending like the cubs have a bad organization and that's why they fail.

So, what kind of organization does this for 100 years?

the organization put together a team that won 97 games. this, well, this is not the organization's fault. they've made the playoffs 4 times in the last 10 years, at some point, you have to start wondering.

what has to happen to convince people?

Frankly? God Himself would have to descend from the heavens holding a sign that says "I DO NOT LIKE THE CUBS AND GENERALLY PREFER IF THEY LOSE". And even that might not do it.

well, not all of us can take a hint.

Excellent rebuttal.

I don't understand why people are surprised that Fukudome is terrible.

So what, a curse?

what else?

do the cubs have to be up by 10 runs in the 4th 5th 6th 7th games of the nlcs only to lose each time to convince you that they're never getting to the world series?

Pressure. Some flukey effect that comes from playing day games or in Wrigley Field (which is an unusual park). An organizational tendency to hire a certain type of player whose style does not work in the postseason.

I don't know. But the odds of it happening by chance are staggering. These aren't one-run losses, these are Pythagorean humilations.

I remember what it felt like when I was 10, playing 2B in Little League, and helped turn a 6-4-3 DP.

I imagine it felt the same for Theriot there.

I don't believe in curses but I do believe that someone who does believe in a curse can think their way into curse like problems.

The Cubs get the curse thrown in their faces constantly and it has to make things harder on them than they should be even though the curse itself isn't real.

Alright. I can feel you on that one. But I think there are also more tangible reasons as well, and I think the organization is to blame, curse or no curse. I feel better blaming them than a goat.

they've had bad upper management in the past, that much is true. but 2003 broke my brain, i don't know how we could say that strange things don't happen and keep happening time after time after time.
