Why don't you start telling us how the 2007 Cubs and the 2008 Cubs are the same team again.

They're not the same team but, I've zero confidence in Zambrano and Harden the next two. Different year same results.

Why don't you be a liar again.

Huh? What did I lie about?

2008 Cubs differential- +184

2007 Cubs- +62

Could you please cite the quotation where I said "the 2007 and the 2008 Cubs are the same team"?

There is some carryover to the team that shouldn't be ignored, but I never said they were the same team. It's rude to attribute things to people that they never said.

I disagree. I have a feeling Zambrano is going to (female dog)slap the Dodgers.

I hope you're right, with Z it's going to turn one of two ways he'll implode by the 3rd or smoke 'em.

if we win game two, despite going on the road, i still think we're favorites.

Agreed. Any chance we can get the bhogg game thread pimp mojo working for tomorrow's game?

I think so, too, but I somehow just don't feel terribly confident in Z.

me either. not at all, actually.

I'd do it, but I think I'm slated to go after whomever is up now.

If I did a game thread right now, it would be awesome. I'm still high on cold / flu medicine.

To be fair, you did start talking about the post-WWII playoff series and games for the Cubs as a group as if that carried some predictive significance into this year.

I say screw it and just let you start it.

Then he should say that.

And while I'm not stating that there *is* a predictive significance, I'm not dismissing it out of hand either. The sample is piling up on some epic underperformances, and there are common threads throughout the teams.

Umm, that sounds entertaining. Can you post a ghost thread somewhere else? Last year it involved an ace-mobile and some sort of ritual sacrifice. Seemed to work well for that start and Z's next start.

Why don't you start telling us how they're not.

Umm, they're much much better? The run differential of the 2008 is like 120 more than the 2007 team? You're seriously saying they are the same team?

Hey guys... the sky is falling! OMG!!

The best teams lose 40% of the time... which means the worst teams win 40% of the time. Calm down and don't be chicken littles until/if the Cubs lose game 2.

Here's another wrinkle....the Cubs have never won a playoff game west of Chicago.

1984 vs. San Diego 0-3

1989 vs. San Francisco 0-3

2007 vs. Arizona 0-2

2008 vs. LA Dodgers ???
