I really don't want to feel hopeless. I am honestly doing my best to keep up hope, but...

Always remember: You root for the Cubs.

that is not different than being a fan of any other team as far as this season

So you don't think there is any added pressure when you play for the Cubs? You don't think the fact that the crowd is booing 5 innings into game 1 of the playoffs after a 97 win season makes anything different?

I'm guessing just about any fans in baseball would be booing their team under the same circumstances.

Completely disagree. If Mike Lowell strikes out to leadoff an inning of game 1 at Fenway when they're down 2 in the 6th, do they boo?

Ok, maybe the Red Sox fans who won a title last year do not. But pick out any of the other 7 playoff teams and I'm betting there's at least scattered boos, especially when your ace loses command for the first time all year and your offense has done very little apart from one swing.

You're one of the few who is consistently negative all the time. One bad thing happens and you think the sky is falling.

That grand slam literally did more to decrease the odds of the Cubs going to or winning the World Series than anything that has happened all season. Negativity is warranted.

You think he knows that (before you posted it)?

Like somebody else said, it's his body of work.

All our flaws are already being exposed.

Question marks with the front of the rotation

Bad middle relief

Bad managing

So our strength, our offense, will come through in the in then right?

We'll see. Good pitching usually shuts down good hitting

I hope Zambrano realises how important tommorow is.

He'll get squeezed a little, then stomp around like a toddler, try to throw it 300 mph and walk everyone in sight.

jesus christ

Well... is he really wrong?

yea

he really is.

i've changed my mind, erik is not the only ridiculous person on this board.

Ok, so then I'm wrong in saying that Zambrano often lets his emotions get the best of him on the mound? You've seen him pitch over the course of his career, right?

Try not to be quite so blinded by optimism. You miss a lot.

Here's some optimism: If Z is good, we win and go to LA tied. Happy?

Im not THAT optimistic, but you are completely over-the-board pessimistic.

and if anybody is blinded by feelings, it is not me

Fixed. Yeah, I know it's not looking too great right now, but I think this offense is a great group, as the regular season proved, and while it may not be that likely that the Cubs come back, there's a chance.

Rammy double. Good start to the inning.
