I was physically at the Victor Diaz game; not only did we have to endure a POS ballpark, but we watched the Cubs tank the game in memorable fashion. Good lord, what a horrible game ...

Although this doesn't completely make up for my experience, it does make me a happy man.

same here, that was the one and only game i ever attended in shea, it was with my dad, who's also a big cub fan. prior pitched great and dempster inexplicably walked two guys in the ninth inning. everyone remembers victor diaz, but a lot of people forget that craig brazell hit his one and only major league home run to end that game. it was extremely traumatic.

f*** you, mets.

I'm not so sure I like this. I think I'd rather face the Mets than L.A.

Collapse aside, Mets lineup is quite a bit scarier.

Plus Santana is better than any of their starters.

It's a bit of a tossup for me.

If Santana can only pitch once in the series, I want the Mets. The Dodgers lineup and rotation are both much deeper than the Mets. (Not to mention their bullpen)

Dodgers lineup isn't nearly as good IMO

In the second half -- which basically coincides with the additions of Manny and Blake and the end of Andruw Jones's playing time -- the Dodgers have a .785 team OPS, the Mets have a .800 team OPS.

In the offenses are much closer than you think.

And while Santana is the best pitcher on either team, Lowe, Billingsly, Kuroda, and Kershaw all might be better than the Mets #2.

And the bullpens? Not even close.

Assuming Santana pitches Sunday or Monday (and can only pitch once), I want the Mets.

Those second half offensive numbers might also be influenced by how hot they've been against bad competition in September...

As much crap as Hawkins gets for that game, it was Dempster's fault. Walking two guys with a three run lead is utterly inexcusable.

3-1 White Sox

this is good, i think the white sox will beat the crap out of the ray rays

I like the Rays, mainly because a majority of the players on this team came through Montgomery (Upton/Longoria/Shields/Sonnastine/Price, etc, etc) and all were/are nice enough guys who spent time chatting with the locals. So I have no qualms with the Rays.

With that said, the White Sox can't even beat the Twins (who they are on par with), much less beat the Rays. Let's put it this way, I would be totally surprise if the White Sox won one game in a potential series against the Rays. That's how overmatch the WS would be going against the Rays.

i understand that line of thinking, i really do, it is the popular line of thought and not at all incorrect in its logic

but...it is my call for the upset of the first round

rays are swept out of the playoffs

How can you guarantee a sweep of the Ryas by the White Sox, when the WS are not even guaranteed to even be in the playoffs by this time Monday? Personally, I think the White Sox are going to choke, losing the division title on the last day of the yr. Cause you know both the Indians and the Tigers---of who the WS still has a make up game they could play if the title is on the line---would love nothing else to put Ozzie Guillen and the annoying WS on their butts for October.

methinx your hatred for the devil rays is playing a role in this questionable pick.
