Does anyone know of any Cub Friendly Bars in St. Louis?

My house got flooded out last week and I don't think I can stand to watch these games with my in-laws...and while the Day games eliviate some of those problems, I'd like to know if there is any good place for Cubs fans to congregate down here to watch the playoff games.

Thougths?

Go to AL Hrabosky's, and then piss all over his picture.

God I hate St. Louis. 5 years of college in Missouri will do that to you.

God I hate St. Louis. 5 seconds of being within 50 miles of Missouri will do that to you.

fixed.

I'd imagine Jim Edmonds bar/restaurant in St. Louis would be a fun place to watch the games with a Cubs jersey on and a Howry-eating grin on your face :)

I know Soriano, Gallagher, and others were partying at Edmonds' bar place earlier in the year when the Cubs were in town. Actually a bunch of Cubs fans gathering there would be pretty cool.

Sounds like a perfect place to watch the day games to me! and not too far from my office...I think that's the spot unless I hear a better suggestion... Maybe we could structure an NSBB gathering?

You know you're from St. Louis when...

-Everyone in your family has been on a "Float trip."

-"Vacation" means driving to Silver Dollar City, Worlds of Fun or Six Flags.

-Down south to you means Arkansas.

-You know what "Party Cove" is.

-You think Missouri is pronounced with an "ah" at the end.

-You know what "cow tipping" or "Possum Kicking" is.

-You think "frog gigging" should be an Olympic sport.

-You don't put too much effort into hairstyles due to wind and weather and know a mullet can stand up to anything.

-There's a tornado warning and the whole town is outside watching for it.

-The local gas station sells live bait.

-Little smokies are something you serve on special occasions.

-All your radio preset buttons are country.

-You’ve complained numerous times to your cable company that TV Land does not show enough Hee Haw marathons.

- Your show visitors the city’s culture by bringing them downtown to the Bowling Hall of Fame.

- You are secretly very jealous of the Cubs, Wrigley Field and Cub fans but will never admit it.

15 has, I think, 2 televisions and about 10 seats at the bar. You can only see the TVs from another 3-4 tables. It's pretty small. I would suggest the Tin Can (either location).

I don't know of any Cubs Friendly Bars in St. Louis, but I'd be up for hanging out somewhere to watch the playoff games. I'm planning on taking off work to watch anyway, so it'd be better to watch it with other Cubs fans than just at home.

Ha, this last one is awesome.

So seriously, what suburb do you live in? No one who actually lives in the city actually gives a damn to rail like this, all the time, on St. Louis.

I'm guessing Schaumburg.

He seems to make a lot of these cliche filled posts making fun of different cities, not just St. Louis.

Yeah, I know. I saw one for Milwaukee recently I believe.

So, I've lived in Chicago (lakeview) and St. Louis. And yes, Chicago is better. But it is possible to not live in Chicago and still not be 100% white trash. There are nice places to hang out in St. Louis.

having moved here from central IL, there is something to be said about living near country with hills, streams, and caves. i dont miss the vast expanse of flat cornfields i grew up with. of course its full of edentulous rednecks here, but thats part of its charm. and if its crime ridden urban lanscape youre after, well we've got that too. its the best of both worlds.

definitely up for stl nsbb get together.

I could do Tin Can downtown ...

I work a little south of the brewery so I would be up for a downtown gathering on gameday. Let everybody know if you're gonna do it.

What part of Central Illinois?

near springfield, then school in B-N.

i would be limited to night games during the week, and i'd prefer something in west county.

What's the plan, MooreCG? I don't really care were it's at, but I just found out this weekend that Pujols 5 has Hoegaarden on tap, so it's got that going for it.

Did I mention Bar Louie in the CWE yet? They have good beer specials.

I'm being more selfish than anything -- it's close to my office.
