Twins will try to get within a half game of the ALC, Dodgers are looking to pull away in their division, and the Brewers hope to tie for the wild card, with some help from us.

Looks to be another great day of baseball.

CC taking the bump again for the Brewers tonight! Wow.

Is there going to be a CC Sabathia left for anyone to sign this offseason?

I know he's willing to pitch this much, but I wonder if it's more of him not wanting to say no. Like he thinks if he says no he'll look bad, like a greedy me-first guy.

I don't think that would be true if he declined to pitch on short rest (again), but that could be a perception out there.

CC said immediately after joining the Brewers, that he would give the Brewers 100% till the end of the season. Meaning he would do what it takes to get into the playoffs, even if that means going on short rest. I think CC feels and obligation to get the Brewers into the playoffs considering what they gave up to get him.

Sure he can say that, but when he said that I don't think he imagined starting 4 times in 12 days.

The prevailing sentiment on brewerfan seems to be a combination of "Well, we have no other choice after failing to even break .500 in September" and "Who the hell else are we going to start, Jeff freaking Suppan?"

The Brewers really backed themselves into a corner by completely blowing it against teams like the Padres and Reds earlier this month. Now they need Sabathia to be consistently good while being consistently tired just to make it to the playoffs, even if it means him being overused and pitching badly once they get there.

It's incredibly frustrating that all the Brewers really had to do this month was break even, and they would have cruised to the wildcard spot. Now they're stuck in a game of "Who Sucks the Least?" with the Mets.

The Cubs don't have that problem.

What's the point of that? B&G has been pure class since coming here, and already admits in his post that the Brewers have been terrible.

I apologize; I didn't mean to sound like a jerk. It was intended to poke fun at a rival fan. I should've added a  .

No offense taken. I'm behind enemy lines here; I expect to be poked and prodded every once and awhile. ;)

i dare you guys to look at the Cardinals lineup today

worse than 2girls1cup imo

Nice.

S. Schumaker CF

A. Miles 2B

N. Stavinoha LF

F. Lopez 3B

A. Kennedy RF

J. Phelps 1B

M. Johnson C

A. Wainwright P

C. Izturis SS

And, of course, they are winning. I especially like this description of a scoring play for the Cards, from Yahoo:

A. Wainwright unknown into double play, A. Wainwright to second, M. Johnson and J. Phelps scored

:-k
