Am I reading this right? If the Brewers win the WC, will the Cubs be playing game 4 Sunday night starting at 930 central? That would also have game 4 out in LA starting at 3pm pacific. I doubt TBS is smart enough to allow for this, but I'm hoping the designation of which is series A and which is B can be switched throughout the series.

??

If the Brewers win the WC, game 4'll be on at 9:30 central. That's 7:30 pacific.

I seem to have forgotten that it would be Cubs Dodgers if the Brewers won the WC  . The point stands - 930pm local time to start a game?

Wouldn't that be 7:30 local time?

Game 4 would be in LA. So it would be 7:30 local.

Here's my email to TBS. I doubt it gets read.

I have to say that MLB choice of networks to broadcast huge games is just absolutely terrible.

From Fox Saturday baseball having all their blackout rights to the terrible announcers fielded by ESPN, Fox, and the very worst TBS. Dick Stockton for baseball? Really? He doesn't even know half of the players or strategies behind the game and acts like every play is the potential game-changer.

However, even worse than the horrible choice of announcers (I can always mute the TV) is the pending schedule for the postseason. As of now a potential Cubs/Mets series could be starting at 12:30 or 2:00 for both Games 1 and 2 of the NLDS. Are you kidding me? I understand that all the games need to be broadcast. Shoot, I want to see them all, but this is making a lot of major fans UNABLE to watch their team play postseason baseball, myself included. Quit trying to plug for your ALCS and put some NLDS in primetime. More viewers: Cubs/Mets or Rays/White Sox? Not even close.

Here are some easy solutions:

1. Give up as a failure next season and let Fox and ESPN have the LDS back.

2. At least give one of the LDS to Fox.

3. Or, use the wonderful idea that you use in the NBA and play some games on TNT.

Even when my team isn't plahing I enjoy October baseball, but I have to say that last October, you made the playoffs the most boring playoffs I have ever seen. It didn't feel like October baseball because your announcer had no clue what was going on. Your station is the worst baseball station ever.

Put the Cubs in primetime,

I'm constantly amazed at the stupidity of the major sports when it comes to broadcasting. This "TBS gets all the first round games so they have to cram 3 games per day" thing is pretty dumb, though I think the NFL's "we're going to let a network that hasn't aired a single NFL game all year carry the Super Bowl" takes the cake

Huh? When did that happen? (The NFL thing)

The straight insults in that email/letter causes it to lose some weight.

Yeah, if I'm the recipient of that email I'm probably going to be more inclined to do the exact opposite of what he suggested doing.

I understand that. I wasn't going to change anything anyway. Just venting.

I'm pissed off about the times, but some of you have been acting like TBS started scheduling day baseball games when they took over the broadcast rights. Ever since the 3 division format started there have been weekday day baseball games. I've seen the White Sox, Red Sox, Yankees, Mets, Cardinals, Astros, and even our Cubs have to play weekday day baseball (remember Game 1 of the 1998 NLDS?) .

I was more upset that we got the bad luck of the draw than upset that there is day baseball for the playoffs. If you don't like it and want to complain, fine. But no one was complaining about day playoff baseball last year when the Rockies and Phillies played all 3 of their games during the day.

I remember being at work and watching the Giants-Marlins first round series on Gameday during the day back in 2003 when we were playing the Braves at night.

At least back then, when Fox(?) had the rights, they planned it according to what games were most likely to draw a high audience...

But I only liked that cuz it favored us...I'm sure other teams fans didn't care for it.

Mentioning giving the games to FOX also causes it to lose some weight. Fox baseball is absolutely terrible with the made up storylines, the overdramatics and Buck and McCarver.

And yet, it's still better than tbs.

I don't have a problem with the day baseball in the playoffs. First off, it's the first two games of the first round. There are going to be much more important prime time games down the road. Secondly, fan bases deal with day playoffs all the time. I remember when the Cubs were in the playoffs in 2003 and received prime time slotting ahead of the Yankees, who had to play a day game or two. It happens. It's much better than playing all games at the same time. And third, come on people, we've been dealing with day baseball forever, is it really that hard to adjust schedules to watch or listen to a game during the day? People do that in April and May all the time, now that it's October it's a huge problem?

Given the importance of a game, it's a lot more likely that someone who would be perfectly willing to miss regular season games while at work will want to see these games.

Unless going to the game, I would never take a day off to watch a regular season game. For these, I might just have to.

ABC was still doing MNF a couple years ago, and their entire production staff is essentially run by the same people at ESPN. I don't see how that is a problem.

ha ha ha, woops. You know what I was thinking of? FOX doing the BCS games in college football. Sorry, not enough coffee this morning.

Who cares what time the games start? Get a Tivo... They can't possibly make EVERY game a night game... jeez.

Yes, because it's incredibly easy to avoid hearing what happened in a PLAYOFF game for 3-4 hrs in Chicago.

Not everybody lives in Europe.

And actually, in 03, every weekday Cubs playoff game was a night game. And every game that didn't happen would've been one, too.

I suppose I could do everything in my power to avoid human contact those days and tell everybody at work not to talk about the game within 30 feet of me and record the game. Or I could just take a day off from work (which I most likely will if they schedule day games)...

Or they could just schedule night games as would be in their best interests anyway.
