It sucks having to use both Marmol and Wood in a relative blowout after we've clinched the division.

What difference does it make? They can rest them for the rest of the series if they wanted to. Need to let them pitch at least about every other day each just to keep them sharp.

CUBS have been outscored in the 9th inning 68-52.

Go CUBS !!

that is somewhat troubling...but is that number offset by home games where the cub ninth wasn't played?

yeah.... about 50 of 'em !!!

Cubs win!

W - Some stupid Joe Schmo that heard all his friends talking about Cubs playoff tickets and decided he was going to root for the Cubs and sign up for the lottery.

L - Me

Save - Wrigleyville bars that I can frequent and spend just as much money with booze.

Oh wait this isn't the playoff ticket thread.

Why aren't they celebrating home field advantage?

Douse the Mets fans with champagne!!

If the Cubs want the Brewers to make the playoffs so we can play the Dodgers, do the Cubs players join the Brewers celebration when the Brewers clinch the Wild Card against us?

Now that home field is out of the way, let's go for a 100 wins!

Lets not peak too early!

Nah, let's finish the season with a 20 game win streak.

Nope, we want Mets v.s. Brewers in a Wild Card playoff game.

The day after two playoff games between the Mets and Phillies, and the Dodgers and D-backs.

If this happened amd there were two days of play-in games, would they move the first round back a day? I don't know who has the coin flips for home field in those games, but I wouldn't think it would be fair to make the Mets and Phillies fly to the other team's stadium, then to Milwaukee (or back to their own stadium) and then to Chicago for the first round all in three days. Theoretically (again, I don't know who has home field) but the Mets could fly from New York, to Philadelphia, back to New York or to Milwaukee and then to Chicago all on consecutive days.
