meh. they haven't made the playoffs in over 25 years, they put all of their hopes in this season and it's falling apart for them. it sucks, i can identify.

For as much as they have pestered us this season, I can't really sympathize with them

 

I do feel pretty bad for them. They were on the cusp of the postseason these last 2 years, and now looks like they'll be rebuilding next year at least, if not for the next several.

 

Good for us, bad for them, but I don't hate them like I do St. Louis. Probably because I rooted for them all those years in my childhood when they were in the American League. I remember being ticked that they didn't catch the Blue Jays back in '92.

 

I was glad they moved to the NL in 1998 because then I could see the Cubs in Milwaukee.

 

Im sure that if the shoe was on the other foot theyd be crying in their Velveeta.

I almost get satisfaction out of seeing Marquis struggle to get a third out like its the most difficult thing in the world to do

 

why don't you get back to plunking pitchers and walking the bases loaded you [expletive]

This is a completely different problem than the 1st. In the 1st, his mechanics were off. When they were fixed during the 1st, he had great stuff after that.

 

This inning he was hanging pitches for the first time all night. I'd be very hesitant to bring him out for the 6th, as I'm not sure if his stuff will come back tonight.

Trade Marquis for a cheese sandwich in the offseason and give any old bum on the street the 5th starter spot.... Marshall, Gaudin, or Shark would be viable options next year as well.

as much as marquis can really tend to annoy...it really is folly to ignore his contributions to this ballclub...he may be overpaid...but he has pulled his own weight
