FYI: Zambrano no-hitter replay

Get your DVR ready Cubs fans, WGN has decided to replay Sunday's no hitter in its entirety on Friday night (9/19) at 10pm. I have no idea if it will be just local WGN or national WGN, but I would assume national WGN.

The link has an e-mail address. I sent them a nice e-mail politely asking (OK, begging) them to show it on WGN America. The more people that do this, the better chance we have of them listening.

It's really stupid. The Cubs have a huge national fanbase - larger than almost any other team - and yet, they show Z's no-hitter each time on Chicago-only television. If they had shown the original game on WGN America and the replay on Chicago-only, that'd make much more sense.

 

This is completely illogical, though. Especially with the utter crap they play on WGN America otherwise.

 

Of course, it has no effect on me. I'll be covering high school games at the time anyway.

Anytime they show a replay of a game, it's blacked out on my directv service, and I get the sports pack + extra innings. I don't think it's a WGN or Cubs decision, it has to do with MLB's blackout rules.

Don't know how it would work, but I'll make the offer. I have a VHS video of the game, taped off of the Houston FSN broadcast. The tape looks okay to me, can't vouch for the quality on other VCR's (if anyone else even still uses a VCR). Any ideas on how this can be shared? I watched the game live and don't particularly want to keep the tape, thus the offer.

I usually don't put much stock in these types of efforts, but I sent them a nice e-mail asking them to air the game nationally.

As it was stated earlier its not the Cubs or WGN's fault. Email MLB, and their stupid blackout policies. Im sure someone on EBAY will have a dvd copy

The game is up on iTunes now, $2 for it is not bad and it's the WGN broadcast so for those of you like me who don't live in Chicago and can't watch the replay this is not a bad option.

I bought Woody's 20 strikeout game on iTunes and it was the damn Astros broadcast. I ended up deleting it.

Is Ron and Pat's call of the end of the game linked anywhere? I was watching it on TV, and only heard the radio broadcast replay briefly. I'd like to hear Ron's remarks. He seemed pretty quiet from the little I heard.
