I am hearing he is having surgery to have a pin inserted in his wrist.

Edit...trib story

Sox slugger Carlos Quentin has wrist surgery

White Sox outfielder Carlos Quentin will undergo surgery Monday morning to have a screw inserted into his fractured right wrist. The team said that he will have the wrist re-evaluated in 2-3 weeks to "determine how the healing process has progressed."

MORE DETAILS TO COME

The Sox have options to replace Quentin, including moving Ken Griffey Jr. from center to left field. And Nick Swisher would move to center.

I'd hardly call those "options to replace."

More like band aids. With seepage.

He gawn!! (sorry couldn't resist) usually don't revel in other teams injuries with our situation.

YOU CAN PUT HIM ON THE DDDDDDDDDDDDDDLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.....NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOO

Again, couldnt restist.

Yes, I am aware that with 40 man rosters, theres no point putting him on the DL.

Anyone see the rumor that he injured himself swinging a bat into a wall

Yea, they're saying it was self-inflicted.

I would cry if a current remember of this team hurt himself by doing something like that.

Was he throwing a fit or just trying to see what would happen if he swung a bat into a wall?

Or if we lost our #2 pick in the draft from last year because he decided to not only ride a motorcycle, but ride one without even really knowing how to ride one.

That crap still pisses me off. That might've cost us a shot at Carmelo or Wade.

Please don't bring that up anymore. But hey we got Rose now!

And he's got entire chapters of his contract devoted to not doing stupid things like hot-dogging on motorized vehicles without knowing how they are operated.

I hope.

That didn't stop Jay.

Hopefully he's got better sense, though.

This is what I'm afraid of every time Zambrano flips out.

I don't normally wish injuries upon players, but with the news that we just lost Quentin, I hate to say it, but I hope Zambrano and Harden never throw another pitch in the majors, or at least one that doesn't end up in the seats.

Sigh

Welcome to the board! Yeah I browse that site a lot and I am still looking for the first sign of humanity over there.

Even if it was Bob Howry?

It's injuries like this that make me a believe that sports teams should put punching bags in the corridor near the dugout entrance. Don't punch the wall. Don't break the bat on a wall. Don't punch the cooler. Punch this bag that is made for punching.

I also think they should set up punching bags at golf courses, bowling alleys, and other frustrating leisure time activity centers

"I fouled off the second pitch and did something I've done since I was a kid. I had the bat in my left hand and hit it with my right hand."

It's one of those things that people lambaste you for if it goes bad, but I'll bet lots of players do these sorts of things.

Who doubts Zambrano would take a pasting if he had to sit out because he badly bruised his thigh after a strikeout?

I think the White Sox are still winning that division.
