I have a feeling Piniella might be done using Howry in critical situations from now on. I hope tonight was the last straw.

 

Why do you think that? Howry has been terrible for months now and Lou still thinks he's good. Why would it change now? I fully expect Howry to be used in key situations all of September.

I'm just about positive there is nothing Howry can do that will make Lou stop using him in tight situations. He's screwed up so many of these chances already that it's pretty clear his leash goes around the world a few times.

I, for one, wasn't referring to you.

 

I have no problem with reacting negatively to crappy play. But the obnoxious, constant carping and negativity gets old very quickly. Done with subject now.

Backe was pitching in that August 6 game where the Astros scored 4 in the inning. Cubs scored 8 in the next inning. I'm predicting 6 runs here.
