Pirates must have a hot date.

i doubt it... have you seen the girls in pittsburgh?

No, but now I'm very curious.

Think "peanut butter sandwich being pulled apart," imo.

I love that we pulled a double switch to get Marshall in, and he still only managed to pitch one inning.

Most likely magic numbers after tonight:

Playoff spot= 21

Back to back NLC= 26

30 to play. 8-)

So if we go 21-9 to finish the season, we are guaranteed to make the playoffs. I like it.

Considering we are in the middle of a 22-6 stretch, I think its possible to do that.

Keep in mind that the Brewers and Cardinals play each other tomorrow.

Alright, straight shutdown inning here. I don't want this interesting at all.

I'm not typically calm about any 9th inning with a lead, but this one, I'm cucumber cool.

Just making it sound better. :-"

Wow, the mets blew a 7 run lead to the Phils, on a 2 out RBI double in the 9th

That game is a microcosm of New York's September last year.

well good thing the pirates saved their best relief pitcher to use when down 6 runs, rather than put him in during the 8th inning when they were up by a run but in a jam.

Conventional thinking reigns supreme.

No dude. You always save your best reliever for the 9th because that's when the best chance for a comeback is.

Let the Phils use up all their hits before this weekend. That could be a rough series, though I like that they will miss Marquis.

Lou must have heard about that. No wonder Wood is in.

Meanwhile, we're using wood and Marmol.
