Chris Huseby was rolling for Mesa before the monsoons hit - 1.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 K. Mesa was up 6-1 when the rain delay started in the bottom of the 3rd.

Jeff Beliveau seems to be something of a lightweight Rich Hill. Beliveua is at 43K/25BB/30IP. Remarkable, but not quite up to the 50K/39BB/29innings Hill had at Peoria during his second pro season.

Draft scouting report reflect the pro results to date:

Florida Atlantic's draft talent is led by lefthander Jeff Beliveau, who transferred from College of Charleston and had an up and down season because of problems with command. Beliveau pitches at 90 mph with plus life. He also throws a downer curveball that creates swings and misses from hitters. Poor command is all that holds Beliveau back from being a top-tier talent because he is a competitor and an athlete on the mound.

Flaherty just hit a solo HR in the top of the 9th. Boise's announcer has basically lost his voice.

Vitters is 0 for 3 with a BB and a K.

Jovan Rosa broke the all-time Chiefs record for doubles today with his 38th - 40th doubles of the season (old record was 38).

40 doubles, 3 triples, 7 homers. I hope he can translate a chunk of the doubles into home runs as he moves up the ranks.

The MWL usually plays as a pitcher's league doesn't it? Or is that just early due to crappy weather?

LF T. Colvin 2/4, RBI

I'm actually looking forward to my monthly view of Colvin's numbers, even though the season ones will still be disappointing.

How much LF time is he logging? Are they just comfortable enough with his CF play that they don't think he needs to play there everyday to keep improving, or is there more talk of moving him to a corner permanently?

Yeah, the MWL is a pitcher's league. I would assume the weather in April and May are a huge factor in it but I'm sure there are other reasons too.

http://www.minorleaguesplits.com/cgi-bin/org.cgi?org=Chc Is a nice site for finding minor league splits and stats stuff. They do have a park adjustment, and a "luck" adjustment. By their stats, Rosa has been a modest beneficiary from his park, and has been a strong benefiary of good luck. They calculate his actual OPS to be about 50 points too high.
