It probably means he's unavailable Thursday, Friday and Saturday, which would make it even more likely he starts Sunday. 3 days rest if he only throws 40-50 pitches is no big deal. Piggyback him with Marshall and you have two guys who should combine for 100 quality pitches on Sunday without extending them beyond their capabilities.
