Jesus, their PK is unbeatable.

They're coward trap, you mean? You mean how they have had 1% forechecking?

LOL, yeah I guess. Whatever it is that has gotten them like 25 straight PKs. This goalie has apparently never been beaten in the 3rd period either. How come Minny finds all these guys and we're stuck with Huet?

Nice classy move by that Wild [expletive] shooting with .7 seconds left... what a douche.

Thank God we play a team that doesn't play like retards next game.

Huet/Bulin would be awesome too if they constantly had 5 defenseman on the ice 100% of the game.

Always so bitter.

If we lost to "a team that plays like retards," what does that make us?

Last night was just one of those nights. The bounces didn't go their way.

There were times when I felt like Versteeg didn't belong on the ice with Kane and Toews, but I need to remember to be patient with him. Besides, not many players belong on a line with those guys.

I also took note of the shoot from anywhere mentality that was definitely going on. Lots of easy saves for Backstrom. The whole point of doing that is you need people in front of the net. Not so much last night.

Couple off days now to worry. But remember, we are getting about what we expected. A team that would hover around .500 and challenge for one of the last few playoff spots.

They aren't really hovering around .500 care they? 3-3-3 to me is essentially 3 wins in 9 tries, or 3 wins and 6 losses. Last years team went 40-34-8 and didn't make the playoffs.

9 points in 9 games isn't horrific, but it's not a playoff pace. And this team is not playing like a playoff team. And I blame Tallon. We needed a true second center and got a mediocre goalie.

We could argue about this all day, but here's my view. You get two points for a win and zero points for a loss. So what do you call it when you get one point? I'll call it a tie. If you're 3-3-3, you're exactly .500.

You're right, we could argue about this all day. But my point is, I don't call any scenario where one team gets 1 point, and the other team gets 2 points a tie. It's not an outright loss, but its worse than a tie, especially in any game against a Western Conference opponent. Either way, we've emerged victorious in 3 of our 9 games, which is not a good pace.

I agree that it's not a good pace. And I wasn't really calling it a tie vis a vis the team they just played, but in terms of the standings and distribution of points.

Yesterday I was going to say that despite the relatively hot recovery off the slow start, they were still not in a good spot, but then I noticed the standings and they were actually the 7 seed. And it wasn't just about playing more games either. However, they've just fallen back out of the race as the 9th seed, due to too many points coming off OTL rather than wins. They definitely need to pick up the pace this coming month. Teams that go .500 don't make the playoffs anymore, you have to be much better than the 3-3-3 pace the Hawks are on. That 82 point pace isn't going to come close to getting it done, it's closer to top of the draft than playoff territory.

At least we lost to a team in regulation so it was a legit loss. But I know you're familiar with hockey... the wild are just as bad as the Devils with the trap defense, it's negative fun to watch. Not saying it's not smart, but definitely cowardly.

You sound like the worst person in the world to watch a game with.

Toews needs to get over whatever problem he's having and start putting the puck in the damn net.

And Huet needs to not play.

Richards/Modano/Avery would eat him for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Feels like forever since the Hawks have played.

I think the Hawks have 5 consecutive days off early next month. That's too long inbetween games and should never happen IMO.

They do, they have 2 5 day layoffs next month, I believe.

There should be no longer than 3 consecutive days off for NBA or NHL teams.
