I really hate that automatic delay-of-game penalty for shooting the puck into the seats from the defensive zone. There are situations where it's done to get right out of trouble. That wasn't the case just there. But there's no discretion.

should be a good game. we got thoroughly outplayed in the first period against the caps last night, giving up 25 shots (!!!), but niittymaki stood on his head and then we blew up for 6 goals in the 2nd and 3rd periods. today we lost a shootout to the devils - we're terrible at shootouts though. even without briere we've been on quite a roll since starting out the season poorly - 14-2-4 in the last 20. i'm glad to see the blackhawks be good again; their fans always seemed like they pined for a winner, but dolla bill wirtz was never going to provide a winner (or a team that played on television). you guys are one of my favorite nhl teams other than the flyers, but that being said - i still hope you lose your next game :-)

Finally got to see a Hawks game -- the Canucks game on NHL network. I was really excited to see the game and I really like this team. Great hustle, and I love the forechecking.

Flyers have one more game on the 23rd before their Christmas break... Hawks get 5 days rest... wonder how that is going to help/hurt both teams. Kinda don't like the Hawks having this long of a layoff when they're on fire... but hopefully the rest bodes well.

I would say I'd take the rest, but I don't think this team needs it at this point. They are too young. Even the old guys, like Sopel, are getting games off to rest due to the surplus on the blue line.

Yeah, sort of hard to take the NHL seriously when you have nearly a week off between games. I understand the Christmas break and all, but would it have been so hard for the Hawks to have a game on Tuesday?
