As a Cowboys fan, I'm looking forward to seeing how Adam Jones looks at CB and Mike Jenkins as well.

I'm looking forward to seeing how all of secondary looks. I've been hearing good things about Scandrick, Ogelsby, and Ball in the early goings of camp. Courtney Brown has replaced Watkins in the 1st team dime package too.

I've heard that Scandrick has looked great on special teams.

I'm glad there are at least 4 Cowboy fans on this board.

There used to be atleast 2 more (ZipDog and Airmandave) but I haven't seen either of them around in quite awhile.

I am also a Cowboys fan.

Heard Pacman looks good. It will be nice to not see Jacque Reeves this season, and watch him get beaten like a mule.

He has looked excellent so far. He's been seeking out matchups against T.O. every chance he gets and he's been holding his own. The other day he caught 6 consecutive punts and held on to each ball as the next was kicked. Below is a picture of him with 5 of the balls, somehow he managed to catch another one:

Panthers suck.

Fearless prediction: Derek Anderson's Ryan Ludwick-esque run ends this season.

My guess is he'll have a pretty similar season. He's not a great quarterback, but he's the product of a system. Great #1 receiver (Edwards), a sure-handed 3rd down receiver (Jurevicius), a great TE (Winslow), great offensive line, strong running back, etc. Add to that the addition of Donte Stallworth and another year in the league for Joe Thomas. I bet I could throw for 3k.

It's nice our college football differences can come together for the NFL :-)

I hate Reeves. TO is supposed to be having a great camp too, as is the entire offense. I am real excited about the RB tandem.

The only weakness this Cowboys team has is its need for another receiver. Jerry has gushed about Stanbeck's work in practice, but they really could use a better number two receiver.

I'm hoping Steve Smith slaps another team mate, so maybe the Panthers will trade him to the Cowboys.

Let's get your sleeper pick of the year.

Mine's Cleveland.

Didn't they win like 10 games last year?

My sleeper is the Rams in that putrid division. I think Stephen Jackson is in a contract year.

There's a pretty good article on ESPN.com right now that talks about the Rams chances. There are a lot of ifs with them, but if Jackson ends the holdout, if Pace can stay healthy, if Bennett can be a #2 receiver, and if an Az Hakim type of player can be found internally, they should be good enough to get to the playoffs.

They have a couple of legit options that could step up. Between TO, Whiten, and I think Felix Jones out of the flats to use his speed, the 2nd WR should not have a lot of pressure.

I agree that they should have enough weapons to cover for it, but it's really the only weakness.

The defensive line is good, the linebackers are solid, and the secondary should be much improved. The offensive line is one of the league's best, we have an excellent RB-tandem, the QB is great, and we have a great receiver in TO and a great TE in Witten. The only thing we could use is a better number two receiver.

If the Falcons cut Horn, I wouldn't be surprised if the Cowboys take a look at him.

I like Stanbeck. At least I did in college. He was a hell of a wild QB but quite an athlete.

I wouldn't expect much out of Horn at this point. It's looking like he is not going to beat out such superstars as Michael Jenkins and Laurent Robinson. I actually like Robinson a lot and think he could be a solid #2 reciever, but do not think that Joe Horn could be an improvement over whatever you have.

I think Horn could be an improvement over Miles Austin and Sam Hurd. Austin has amazing speed, he just can't catch. Hurd is pretty pedestrian. Stanbeck could be good, but he's really, really raw right now as he's still learning the position.

Horn would give us a veteran to take some attention away from TO. At least if it were thrown his way, he could catch it.

To be honest if we sign Horn I really don't see him doing much. I think he would end up with a tenure similar to Peerless Price's from a couple of years ago. Crayton dropped a few critical balls last year, but he's still got the best hands on the team and he's out to redeem himself this year. Combine that with Hurd, Austin, Amendola, and Stanback (I think we'll keep 6 WR's) and I believe we'll be fine at WR. Throw in Witten who is a stud, Tony Curtis and Bennett who are both threats to catch a few balls, and all 3 RBs being cabable receivers out of the backfield and I think we'll be fine.

Our passing game was one of the most dangerous in the league last year and all we did was add more playmakers this year, and all of the young WRs have another year of development under their belt. Next year in FA there will be guys like Lee Evans, Roy Williams, and T.J. Houshmandzadeh that could help us out without having to give up anything in terms of draft picks or players. Next year's draft is also stacked with playmaking WR's (Crabtree, Maclin, Heyward-Bey, Harvin, Byrd, and more that I'm forgetting) too. I really don't see a need to change anything we've got right now. Our offense is so stacked that if #2 WR is our weakest link we should be fine.

Don't forget too that we've got Houck back as our OL coach, which should really improve our running game. Last year our pass blocking was good, but our run blocking was horrible. The improvements in the running game will also take pressure off of Romo and the receivers.

Hey there is always Chris Henry who is available. And we know the Cowboys loves those boys who like to fight the law.

And amazingly they behave themselves once surrounded by the strong influences in Dallas which has a person specifically designed to assist players in keeping themselves out of trouble.

While the mid 90's Cowboys had its issues, and everyone wants to accuse the Cowboys of being a rouge team, it's funny that in recent years there haven't been any arrests of guys while they are playing for the team. The Cowboys have signed guys like Tank and traded for Pacman, but those guys have been good citizens since coming to Dallas. The structure and support system Jerry has put in place along with guys in the locker room like Brady James and Terrance Newman is so good, it allows the Cowboys to take chances on these guys because in all likelihood, they won't stray while with Dallas.

I'm not sure if the Cowboys would take a chance on Henry, but if any team could straighten him out, it would be Dallas. Calvin Hill is very good at his job. My guess is that until they are certain Pacman isn't going to cause any headaches, then they won't take too many more risky players. But, they could take a chance on Henry, and I wouldn't be shocked to see him come to Dallas and behave himself.

as this whole "favre to the buccs" thing gets more and more serious, it will be entertaining to see the kinds of public hissy fits that jeff garcia throws.

Garcia strained his calf last Thursday and had to be carted off the practice field. He's since been spotted walking normally but he hasn't practiced since then and he won't be playing in their first preseason game. I think it will be interesting to see not only how Garcia reacts, but how the other QBs react too. With Favre, Garcia, Griese, Simms, McCown, and rookie Josh Johnson things will be very crowed in TB.

I hear the Cowboys are waiting for Simms to be released so they can pick him up and let Johnson go.

Johnson won't be with the Cowboys this year, I can almost guarantee that. Apparently the defense has nicknamed him Check-Down Johnson in training camp. I'm intrigued by Bartel, but I would definitely feel more comfortable with an experienced QB behind Romo. I've heard the Simms rumors, but I don't know if I really want him. He's got a stronger arm than Johnson, but he hasn't played in nearly 2 years either. With the talent we've got, if Romo goes down all I really want is a game manager (think Trent Dilfer during Baltimore's SB run).
