If we get a little help from the Dodgers and Marlins over the next 10 days, they might bury themselves. If they're going to fade, this would be a fine time for it.

but, but, but wait a minute I thought getting Carpenter and Wainwright was going to solve all of the Cards problems and lead them to the playoffs? :roll:

 

With that said, I don't feel comfortable with the Card lurking until they are MATHEMATICALLY eliminated. Which means this coming series with the Birds, the Cubs must go for the kill.

The Cubs are going for the kill. Lou took Z out early today so he'd be fresh for his next start against the Cards.
