Struggling with Marquis wouldn't bother me nearly as much given the rest of our rotation, if we didn't have a better option in Marshall.

Or Gaudin.

Just to check with you on this.

WoW = nerdy

Sabermetrics = not nerdy?

Well, yeah, but at least saber stuff has some use in the real world. And I could be completely off here, but I think there's a lot better chance of making money by being profficient with saber than WoW.

Mayyyybe...but most people still do both just for fun, not for money. Both are more hobby than occupation, though people manage to do that with both.

Doesn't matter....I'm not sensitive about it...just thought it was funny. :)

Are they just going to keep running Marquis out there every 5 days or will they make another Trachselesque trade? Or will Lou ever realize that he has Sean Marshall available? Do we really need 3 LHers in the bullpen that bad?

Is Marquis really that much worse than a pitcher that clears waivers?

Gaudin has solidified our pen in Woods' absence, but I wouldn't mind seeing how he'd do either when Woody gets back.

Meh, I consider them pretty close to equal.

You sure about that?

I don't, but even if that is true, Marshall has room for growth that Marquis doesn't.

No, but half of Cub fandom will never believe that.

He's the worst pitcher in the rotation, so it's fated that he must be ripped mercilessly.

CHASING HISTORY!

pretty sure the stat is grounding into dps.

Signs you might be playing too much world of warcraft:

If you read that and wondered what Derrek Lee's damage per second is.

NERD

Ugh. You blow, Marquis. I'd rather have Hill up here than you.

You mean the Rich Hill who can't find the strike zone? The same one whose last outing was 3 IP, 5 H, 5 ER, 3 BB, 3 HBP, 1 SO? Oh yeah, and that was in the high-A Florida State League.

I'd be happy with either.

Hell, I'd be happy with my 6 months pregnant wife over Marquis.

I was just thinking about this. Since he's only been used in single inning situations mainly so far for the Cubs, would he still be stretched out enough to go 3-4 innings if today gets crappy?

Marquis and Eyre remain this teams weakest links. Our 25th man is better than our no. 5 starter - in my not-so-humble opinion.

Howry?

Normaly by now i would be going nuts and throwing things at marquis on my tv, however it was almost inevitable he was going to bring us down. May have to settle for 2 out of 3 this weekend. Marshall PLZ

Alright, knock that crap off now.

These are the Pirates. The substantially weakened Pirates that make this week's Brewers look like the 1927 Yankees in comparison.

Win this game. There is no excuse not to. None at all.

man I had a bad feeling about a letdown.

To be fair, the vast majority of our runs this week have come 6th inning and later.

true, but I wonder how far behind we will be by then with Marquis toeing the slab.
