This is an embarrassment, especially considering the game coming up at Wrigley. Ryno is not running a tight ship. He seems to take pride in fighting and getting thrown out. His replacement reportedly shoves another manager? A pitcher repeatedly throws at hitters' heads and then at fans.

 

You almost have to wonder if the higher ups consider cancelling the Wrigley game.

Castillo should hope his career is over. If he makes an appearance at Wrigley next week I'm going to bean him in the head.

I hate Ryne Sandberg. The minor leagues are supposed to be about the young kids. Helping the kids become major leaguers. He's only out for himself, just like he always was.

It was out yesterday itself:

 

Peoria: Interim manager Carmelo Martinez, OF Brandon Guyer, 3B Jovan Rosa, C Mario Mercedes, OF Cliff Andersen and Ps Julio Castillo, Stephen Vento and Audy Santana.

 

Dayton: Manager Donnie Scott, Justin Reed, Kevyn Feiner, Phipps, Mesoraco and pitchers Henry Arias, Jeremy Horst, Jeff Jeffords and Luis Montano.

For those of you wondering, no, Julio Castillo is not much of a prospect.

 

Even if he were, there's no reason he shouldn't be kicked off the team for that. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. Who in their right mind would throw a baseball at someone from 5 feet away?

 

I'm actually glad it hit a fan because that means more will be done to him. Just completely insane.

 

Assult with a deadly weapon might be an option. He better hope the fan is ok.

 

The fan is expected to be ok.

I still think he's got a whopper of a lawsuit against Castillo (and perhaps the Chiefs) if he chooses to pursue it.

 

I'll say.

 

That fan will never have to pay for Peoria Chiefs tickets again, if he ever chooses to attend another game.

DAYTON, Ohio — A minor league pitcher accused of throwing a ball that hit a fan during a wild brawl was charged with felonious assault, authorities said Friday.

 

Peoria Chiefs pitcher Julio Castillo was arrested Thursday following the fight with the Single-A Dayton Dragons. The fan hit by the ball was taken to a hospital for treatment.

 

Montgomery County Jail officials said the 21-year-old Castillo was scheduled to be arraigned Friday. Video from the game shows Castillo throwing the ball angrily but doesn't show where the ball landed.

 

The fan's name and condition weren't immediately available.

now, if that fan had just brought his glove to the game, he'd be uninjured with a free souvenir!

 

that made me laugh in an otherwise horrible situation.

 

the thing is in watching those videos, what possesses people to cheer during a fight like that? Unbelievable?

A real LOSER off-the-field too. No wonder he's headed for a second DIVORCE. LOUSY family man.

 

The Hall of Fame does not make you a good person. He let it go to his head. I hope to GOD he never ever manages the CUBS. I'll become a Whie Sox fan.
