And now they botch a rundown.

What?

You do realize a rundown has taken way too long when the batter makes it to 2nd, right?

In general, yes. But when the runner in the rundown has decent speed, the runner going from first to second has very good speed, and the players trying to track the runner down (Ramirez, Soto, and Lilly) are slow... then no, I wouldn't say it was botched at all.

Wow, the Dbacks are stupid. They took advantage of some aggressive baserunning, which is good, but they really took it too far. They've already made 2 outs on the basepaths on a pickoff and agressive run home, and they were picked off another time earlier in the game but didn't get caught.

They ran into a bunch of outs against the Brewers when we played them too. One of those outs they ran into cost them Byrnes for 60+ days. Just doesn't seem worth it.

Way too many throws and allowed the guy to get to second.

OK, but a runner broke towards home and he didn't score. I wouldn't exactly tag that as a total failure. Not textbook perfect.

When it's soto and ramirez and a runner with decent speed, your odds of getting that right aren't very good

Rundowns should really only take two throws if it's done right.

except, you know, when you have conditions like I described.

Dang it. Ramirez screwed over.

Who cares? At least he got on base. He hasn't done that a whole lot lately.

Now if the rest of these idiots can get him in...

Anyone else find it bad that our 4 and 5 hitters tonight are in a combined 0-47 slump? (Ramirez 0-26, Soto 0-21)

Hell no!

I'm sure one of the two, if not both will get hot in the next four game series at Wrigley.
