It's pretty obvious the first half offense was nothing more than a complete fluke..a freakin mirage....when your team gets raped by a 50 yr old man..that's enough said.

Are you kidding me? Are you watching the game?

The old "watch the games" retort...

Well, seeing as they've hit 4542354623 liners and all of them have been caught, I don't think their ability to make contact against Randy Johnson is in question. But yes, sometimes you need to watch the game to be able to tell that.

We could be out of first place by the end of the week. We were 5.5 up on St. Louis, 6 up on the Crew, the weekend before the All Star break.

kind of like when we could've been out of first place by the weekend before the all-star break but instead were 5.5 up on St. Louis and 6 up on the Crew.

And another thing, how in the world did Aramis' fly to left not sneak over the fence??

Looked pretty well hit. Must have blasted on the AC that blows balls back in right at that moment.

I certainly thought he hit it better than Romero did, I thought Romero's was going to be catchable if we had a good OF out there, but Derosa wouldn't have robbed it if it was close, but I thought Aramis was going out as well.

Welcome to the Cubs Rich. Is the D-Back Bullpen as good as last year without Valverde?

The blew a 5-1 9th inning lead to the vaunted Dodgers offense yesterday.

Seems to me like Lyon's been serviceable but not quite as lights-out as Valverde. Not nearly as psychotic, either.

Last time the CUBS pitchers got 10 Ks in a game.... Sat 12 July 08 (12 Ks) in an 8-7 win over San Francisco at Wrigley (guess who?)

Go CUBS !!

Rich Harden why of course.

Doesn't feel the same though. We were hitting then. We can't buy a hit now. Yeah yeah hard liners right at them. If they ain't fallin', you ain't hittin'.

This is true. We've killed the Unit tonight, but every hard hit ball has gone right to somebody. Hard to fault the offense for this.
