I know its early and theres like 60+ games left but this offense needs to come back quick because we can't expect these type of outings from all our starting pitchers. I mean Harden, Zambrano, and Dempster probably but Lilly and Marquis chalk all the games up as losses with this offense.

We are hitting the ball hard tonight, but we have not been working the count and that is why hits aren't dropping IMO.

If only they can go back to when they knew how to take pitches more often than not.

I'm really starting to think the Brewers are going to win this division.

Last year in reverse. It's gonna happen.

If we can't score off the crappy 45 year old, our once 8.5 game lead is down to 2.

9 more outs for the Cubs to work with. Randy Johnson at 71 pitches through 6 so unless he unravels he is going 8.

If we lose this game, I am going to start to panic. The Cubs offense is better than this no walking, no patience, no hitting garbage that they've shown.

Is it? Or did we just see a hot first half and that's the end?

I'm beginning to wonder.

Soriano showed more patience in his first rehab start than any of the Cubs tonight.

Rich Harden has to hate playing for the Cubs already.

LOL yeah, his bullpen blew an 8 run lead for him denying him a win. In his second start, he pitches a no hitter into the 6th inning, and gets 0 runs of support.

Yikes. I see the panic button has been pushed.

Calm down people. We're crushing the ball tonight with nothing to show for it.

Well, I guess the silver lining is that Lou won't be tempted to let Harden finish a no hitter. Plus we should score here next inning, so hopefully Harden can get through this inning then hand it off to the bullpen.

Thanks offense. What a joke.

Are you kidding me? If Chris Young wasn't the greatest defensive CFer of all time, the Cubs would likely have at least 1 run.

You guys can stop us from cussing, but stopping overreaction on this board will be a lot work..

Are they? I'm not so sure. The patience has gotten prgressively worse each month since the season started. This offense is better than last year's, but is it significantly better? Fukudome has actually been a downgrade offensively in RF so far, so the only real upgrade is Soto.

I think its panic because of the offense the past 3/4 games has been abysmal while our pitching has been very good and we are going to be 1-3.

I've seen teams hit hellish bad streaks where the ball just doesn't drop. Could be happening right now. If it causes a big losing stretch, what's the difference? It still ends badly for us either way.

Well we finished 8th in the NL in runs scored last year and theoretically we got better in the offseason, so yeah. I also don't think that a team that led the NL in runs scored by a decent margin the first 60% of the season is a fluke. Maybe not as good as they've shown but certainly not the garbage we are watching right now.
