It might have been your initial reaction before seeing the replay, so I'm sorry if it was. But I didn't see anything wrong with what Theriot did there. He threw it to the only base he possibly had a play at, and where his teammate was pointing.

How was that Theriot's fault?

 

He might have gotten the out at first. It's debatable if he would have, but what I do know is he had no chance at 2nd

Yeah initial reaction. And I guess Pence is quick so its doubtful we get the out at first
