I've felt since about the 3rd inning that we were going to lose this one, even after Edmonds went yard.

From the descriptions of the flyballs in this game up to this point, if the Cubs hitters would simply pull the ball and take to RF, then this game should be something like 5-1, or so. But the problem I see with the Cubs, according to people who are watching the game, is that the Cubs are trying to hit it to CF.

And the Cubs will win this game.

They're TRYING to hit it to CF? Weird.

Gaudin and cotts warming up.

See, now this is a place where Marmol should be used. What happened to using him in key situations?

Are we purposefully forgetting how bad he's been for 2 months since it's the second half now?

I guess he is more valuable when we are up five runs

Or it might have to do with his 9+ ERA since June 1?

I'd rather have him pitching than Cotts.

You must be a pretty bad catcher when Brad Ausmus has to pinch hit for you.

Wait or was that still Towles?

Len just said something about Hill's numbers not looking good tonight? wtf happened?

4.1 ip, 6 r, 5 er

Well that's disheartening.

I don't think those numbers are right, at least not according to what Raisin put in the Minor League forum. Pretty sure Raisin was listening to the game.

That is right. He had 6 K and 3 BB.

He was great till that 5th inning, and he left giving up 3 R/2 ER before the reliever (Phelps) decided bases-clearing triples would be good idea. It seemed like he tired, that's what the Daytona announcer said.
