Jason Bay woulda thrown him out.

he did a I LIKE TO CUSS job of lining up for the throw, and then made a borderline throw

he wasn't as I LIKE TO CUSS as uggla, but who is?

LOL, Hurdle saying that David Wright was going to be the pitcher if it went past Lidge.

Impossible the geniuses in the booth kept telling me it would be a tie if it went past the 15th.

They probably don't understand how the DH rule works so they'd be utterly confused by the Wright thing.

as i mentioned in the game thread, was selig's plan to avoid the embarrassment of a tie (though really, who cares) or to improve ratings/interest for the game? if it's the former, then it's probably pointless. if it was the latter, however, then it's a resounding success.

baseball is the best one because it's the least physical, so the play on the field is very similar to what you'd see in a normal regular-season game.

the pro bowl has to be the worst. does anyone care, really? it's after the season, half the players opt out, and the people who go play patty-cake because nobody wants to get hurt.

Soooo...was it worth it to have that decide HFA?
Absolutely not. It's unfair that the Cubs lost home field advantage (assuming they make it to the Series in the first place) because a Brewer couldn't throw out the runner at the plate.

He vomitted in the dugout during the 15th inning after striking out again.

Maybe. That said, we still wouldn't have gotten home field this year had it been the old system.

I still feel cheated by Billy Wagner, Uggla, and everyone else's suckitude.

Dempster striking out the side was cool, though.

he wasn't as tunas are pretty as uggla, but who is?

That's some colorful language you chose there

As far as the game goes, I'm really glad that Aramis Ramirez, who was selected by the fans to go to the All Star game, got one at bat and was then immediately pulled for Christian Guzman of all people. Meanwhile, David Wright, who was selected by Hurdle because he had to pick someone to replace an injured player and wasn't actually elected, got more AB than someone who did.

Aramis Ramirez, the 2nd best 3B on the NL. 0-for-0 one walk, pulled for a pinch runner who shouldn't have even been elected

My "All Star Game Fix Its" solutions, if going to keep this idiotic mentality of "IT COUNTS!" towards the ASG:

- Allow position players to re-enter if comes a time that all available players have been used before the end of the game, especially in extra inning contests [Dan Uggla, Christian Guzman, Cory Hart, Ryan Ludwick, etc getting 4 or 5 ABs in an ASG??]

- That or expand the rosters so won't run out after 10 innings

- Expand the pitching rosters to avoid running out in extra inning contests

- Make the coaches actually use their brain, and stop trotting guys out when they obviously are killing their side's chances of winning [ie, Hurdle and Uggla]; yeah, I know, didn't have a choice because of no players available to replace him with, but still

- But first and foremost, remove the "winning side gets WS HFA" rule and make it so that the team with the best record at the end gets HFA
