I'm surprised that egomaniac JoeMo wasn't on the field. Maybe he refused to stand near Ryno....

Could be the one thing that makes Ryno dive, is Joe Morgan coming towards him.

Or he was worried that Ernie Banks would come over and take him out for those "Banks' Basket" comments.

Bob Feller is a turf. About 20 years ago he was in town participating in a local celeb baseball game before the AAA all star game. He spent the whole time bitching about being in it and forced to share the field with disc jockeys. One of the AAA guys got fed up and put on street clothes pretending to be a local guy. He took him deep on the first pitch and Feller left the field cussing.

Feller has always been known as a bit of a douchebag.

Did have a cool windup though!!

How fast did he throw? I heard stories that he got it up in the mid 100s.

Like 140 150?

Mid 100's?? Now THAT would be something.

Just kidding, I know what you mean. He was the fastest pitcher of his generation, so I'm sure he could probably get near 100. Doubt he could go over it...that's rare indeed.

Sheryl Crow was the best they could do?

The NL chose her in honor of the last time the NL won an All Star game. This was the last time she was relevant.

This may make me the biggest arsehole in the history of arseholish behavior, and absolutely no offense meant towards the All-Time Greats, but the pomp and circumstance before the ASG is just way too much anymore.

Why can't they schedule the pomp an hour before they usually hold it? I'm lucky enough to not have to work until the afternoon/evening tomorrow, but the game isn't starting until like 8:45-9 EST (in the middle of the work week)... shouldn't happen that way.
