Congrats, Mitch!

Though does that mean he doesn't get to go to the AA all-star game?

I think even if a minor leaguer is pomoted to the majors, they're still eligible to play in their all star game.

Eligible, but I don't think I've ever seen a promoted player go backwards just to compete in an AS game.

But they'd have to demote him before Monday so he could play, which just isn't happening.

Good for him!

He could make a nice back end of the rotation guy or middle reliever, imo. AAA should do a good job of telling which one he fits better.

The Cubs feel the same way about him. He's been a nice pitcher for them. We'll see him in Mesa next spring, for sure.

Good to hear it. He's a guy I think we've all been rooting for.

it's about time! Atkins deserved to be up before Samarjida anyway. Big congrats to Mitch...now I've got to try and scheme about ways to get over to Des Moines sometime soon...

Sweet, maybe I should go into the business side of baseball!
