I don't know about the rest of you, but splitting with the Giants, to me is as good as a lost series. You needed to get healthy against a team like the Giants, and you can only split. The Cubs should sweep the freakin Jints, and yet, this Cubs team is playing like the pre-2007 Cubs, then the April 2008 Cubs.

Confidence in Marmol is at 0%. There was a time when if runners were on second and third and none out, it was an upset if teams even put the ball in play against him, let alone score.

 

Being that weird, freakish things happen to our teams when everything seems perfect, this is actually no surprise at all that Marmol is now having it happen to him.

Didn't he say he was going to ease Marmol slowly back into high leverage situations spots? So he puts him in in a 1 run game with guys at first and third with no outs, after getting bombed the night before. He asically was saying "we need a strike out right now. nothing else will do. No pressue though!"

 

And then he pulls him after 1 batter, leaving him confidence at an all-time low. Well played.

its almost cute watching the Giants fans act like they just won game 7 of the world series every time their miserable team gets a hit. It must be nice to have such simple goals.
