By the way, Samardzija is set to make his AAA debut on Tuesday night.

And as for Ascanio, who was supposed to be activated from the bereavement list last Thursday:

After a series of travel problems, Ascanio still hasn't been back in uniform, but is due back at any time.

Where's my Michael Brenly update?

DNP

Vitters now 2 for 3 with a double on the evening. His line as of the millisecond: .346/.393/.462/.855

What's his line now that he's 3-4 with 2 doubles? Haha it's so easy to get excited/disappointed based on small sample sizes, but Vitters could silence his critics a bit with a good showing at Boise.

Very small sample size with Vitters, but still very good to see. He's still only 18, right?

Yes, he doesn't turn 19 until August 27th.

Interesting outing by Pawelek.

Walk, HBP, Walk to start the 4th with the bases loaded none out, but did get a GIDP and groundout to get out of it w/ just 1 run scored.

Three groundouts in a 1-2-3 fifth inning.

Single and 2 walks to load the bases with 1 out in the 6th. Allows a run on a sac fly. The 2nd hit he gave up was a 2-out bunt single to load the bases again. He got out of it with another flyout.

Good: 7-2 GB/FB ratio. 2 hits allowed, 1 a GB single, other a bunt single.

Bad: 4 walks, 1 HBP, 1 wild pitch, 0 Ks.

Ward is 5 for his last 8 and 5 for 10 overall with a walk. They've all been singles, though.
