Why is it that the Sox announcers got WGN yesterday? Do you really want those two idiots representing Chicago baseball on a national broadcast? Hide them on CSN and put Len & Bob on WGN for all Cubs/Sox games.

For that matter why does White Sox get games on WGN for that matter? Nobody nationally knows who the White Sox are. Nor do they bring in the ratings. The Cubs do very well by themselves on WGN. WGN can drop White Sox games (to which they could feesibly take the would be WS games, and turn them back into more Cub games on WGN), and just do Cubs games only. Let Comcast or whoever pick up White Sox. Seeing as the target audience for White Sox games, are in Chicago.

It would cost WGN a ton of money because of the "superstation" tax. Same reason the Braves aren't on TBS any more. More than a certain number of games on a superstation and they have to pay astronomical fees to televise the extra games.

I like this matchup today. Marquis sucks, and I hate him, but even I have to admit he can have stretches when he pitches well. He is on one of them right now. Contreras on the other hand is trending downwards, starting off the season amazing and fading a bit to his 2006 and 2007 numbers.

I'm surprised that Fontenot isn't where Patterson is in the lineup, and Hoffpauir isn't in LF batting 6th, but otherwise I can certainly see Lou making this lineup. Contreras's splits the last 1 1/2 years have been huge.

I'm almost sure it is. He's played 11 straight games, and this is a good day to give him a day off. He's not going to get many with Soriano out, so Lou needs to find a way to get him rest with pitchers like this who are tough on right-handers.
