Why the hell can't our ace pitch like one for 6 months once.

There's only a handful of pitchers that can do that. And even they have bad starts from time to time.

Fun fact: Brandon Webb has an ERA of 6.46 over his past three starts with an OPSA of .823.

He's just giving up crap singles that are leaking through. You guys are so dramatic.

He's giving up repeated opposite field singles that aren't "leaking" through.

oh god i know, people are just crushing those opposite field singles. I'm surprised a couple of those 130 foot bloops havent gone over the fence.

He was pitching for contact and trying to a get a double play ball basically the entire inning and you guys are acting like it's just blast after blast after blast. It's embarrassing.

It's not embarassing. He had an incredibly sheety inning and we're commenting on said sheety inning. What are we supposed to do, tip our caps and nod politely and go about discussing the day's news ticker?

"OH GOD SEASON OVER THANKS ALOT ZAMBRANO GO THROW A TANTRUM HE SUCKS THANKS LOU IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR HIM TO BE AN ACE EVERY GAME FOR 6 MONTHS"

those are all things that were said while the Rays got lucky and strung a bunch of crap singles together. It's sad that people like to rationally discuss baseball before and after a game but during it they revert to acting like morons.

hilarious! not to say that this one is over, but so what if it is? salvage a game in Florida and go home with a .500 road trip. .500 through this swing is more than acceptable imho...

Most of my frustration is about how typical Z melts down whenever his defense lets him down

He's such an immature baby up there, I love him so much, but anything that messes with his little pitching bubble and he explodes to the detriment of his team

i concur

you just don't like the cubs players

actually thats not true at all, i like every play on the team aside from DeRo, Fontenot-skill, Therrible(even tho he has been a suprise) and Marquis. ooo and Cotts too

how long did it take you to think of those?

2.63 seconds, why do you ask?

sounds like an irrational hatred of middle infielders

way to go DeRo, so u guys still think he's good? thats probably the weakest and most un-clutch .300 batting average i've ever seen

You're un-clutch.

That has about as much meaning as calling a player un-clutch.

i dont have to be clutch, im not getting paid millions to play a game. o and i dont get half the year off either

Iwamura has the same "3 steps to 1st base" swing as Fukudome

btw despite him saving my fantasty team last year I now despise Iwamura

So what are Zambrano's stats before and after the 130 pitch game in SD.

I don't have the exact stats, but it's clear that he hasn't been as good since that game against LA (not SD). I don't know if it's because he faced a tougher lineup, or because of all those pitches.

His game log

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/gamelog?playerId=4499

He has had 1 out of 4 quality starts (6 IP, 3 ER) since then, and this start is included (a non-QS)

Before, he had 9 of 11 QS.

DeRosa came into tonight with an 849 OPS. Not bad for a second baseman.

Theriot has a 761 OPS with a 389 OBP. His fielding can be frustrating at times.

Fontenot has a 720 OPS which isn't great, but considering he's the 24th or 25th man on this team, it's not bad for a bench player who plays second base.

I won't defend Marquis.
