tubby smith at alabama will never happen. i don't think tubby is ever coming back to the sec, he's happy and safe right where he is. quite frankly, i can't see him ever coaching south of mason-dixon again unless he's desperate.

he's not leaving a great job in minny for a program like alabama, it doesn't make sense at all.

as for mark few, dream on.

Agreed on both. I think Few's heading to Arizona after this season, and if he doesn't, I'd be surprised if he ever leaves.

You've got the wrong Pac-10 school for Few. Think Nike.

that would be optimal. get worldwide wes's influence out of oregon. one less school to worry about poaching chicago talent.

Good call, forgot about the naplam bomb that went off on that program this year. Few's gonna get paid this year if he's smart.

I wonder how many more games in a row we need to lose before it's obvious we won't get an at-large bid. We're not beating Pitt at Pitt on Saturday so that'll make ND 3-6 in the Big East.

Luke goes for 29 and 17. Everyone else on the team shoots a combined 12/44.

so my theory holds for another game

Sigh, I really don't want to buy that theory because things like "Luke shoots and makes turnaround fadeaway 20-footer over Hayward" just awe me, but you're probably right.

Harangody seems to be ND's new Brady Quinn - denied his deserved accolades because of an incredibly disappointing supporting cast. Except while BQ tended to have worse numbers against better teams, Luke actually plays better against them.

And yet like the football team ND gets way too many votes in the polls. No way they should be ranked.

Hey Cubbie we got a big game tonight...It'll be two in a row on the road against two pretty good teams

With the week off I'm a little worried about how our shooting will be. We could start bad and have to rally in the second half. Although with a week of rest Kramer and Hummel should finally be 100%.

Let's play a game...who has the better tournament resume?

Team A: 11-7, RPI: 73, 5-5 in the last 10, 2-5 vs. top 50, 3-6 vs. top 100, 4-5 road/neutral record, non-con schedule rated 311, one loss outside top 100

Team B: 10-7, RPI: 41, 4-6 in the last 10, 1-5 vs. top 50, 3-7 vs. top 100, 2-5 road/neutral record, non-con schedule rated 234, no losses outside top 100

Neither?

If I had to choose I would go with team B. Much higher RPI and no bad losses. The bad losses part is important to me because neither team looks good but with no bad loss maybe team B could have a good game in the first round.

Just looking at this I'd call it a toss up, maybe a slight lean towards A, but neither team looks very good. The committee would take B over A, because they hate teams with a 70+ RPI.

After figuring out who each team was and looking at their schedules...

I'd defiantly take B, but neither is in right now.

Oh, I'm not saying either team should necessarily be "in", right now, I was just somewhat amused by how strikingly similar the profiles were, and how nobody is saying Team B should be in or ranked, and somehow Team A is ranked and largely assumed in.

You don't have to tell me. I've been telling people this team shouldn't be ranked and probably wasn't going anywhere for two weeks now.

Notre Dame and Northwestern?

Yeah it scares me a little for Grant's sake and Moore's. Grant especially has been very hot shooting wise lately, but Johnson seems like he's been alright this year even with a week off and I think it will only help Hummel and Kramer even more.

1987 ui-purdue game in champaign was just on. purdue won in ot, altenberger hit a 3 to send it there, purdue came back from 16 down in the second half, bruce weber sighting.

Watched the last bit of it. I realized a little ways in that I kept thinking everyone was so tall. Reason being I'm used to seeing 2 feet of leg skin and with the shorts back then it was like 4 feet. Just made everyone look tall to me. It was a bit weird but Purdue won.

Ugh Cyrus Tate will likely be out at least the next two games, Michigan State on Thursday and at Illinois on Sunday. MSU will absolutely abuse us inside.

Anyways, someone just youtubed the entire Michigan @ Iowa game from Super Bowl Sunday in '93. First home game after Chris Street died. Sophomore year of the Fab Five. Awesome, loud, memorable game that I hadn't seen since then. At the end of the game you can see the beginning of one of the coolest Iowa moments ever.

It's still early but 2010 C Josh Smith (from suburban Seattle) says UCLA is his leader at the moment. :)

is it just me, or does it seem like there aren't even enough "good" teams to fill the Top 25 this year? Feels like a year where the top seeds in the tourney are going to stomp their way to the Elite 8

Apparently the refs are going to allow Wisconsin to throw forearms to Purdue players faces tonight. That was an ugly foul by Krabbenhoft and it went uncalled. He fully extended his arms.
