For as much crap as Chet gets from the fans he is actually a nice looking player. He rebounds, plays great D, has good handles, and his shot appears to be improved. Also take a look at his A/TO ratio this year. Chet is an asset to this team, and I think fans will finally embrace him by the end of the season.

he hasn't deserved to be embrace yet, though. his game hasn't been good. but as far as doing the other things besides scoring this year, he's been golden.

I bet if his name was Chris Kramer you would love him, very similar games between the two yet everyone always shits all over Chester. It's not his fault he was put in the situation he was last year, that goes on Bruce and his poor recruiting.

It means a little less after Seton Hall knocked them off Thursday, but still nice to see Mizzou beat #20 USC, 83-72. DeMarre Carroll had a career day with 29 and 9. Mizzou's defensive pressure just caused USC to unravel down the stretch.

OU is gonna kill them.

Getting Gibson in foul trouble was huge for Mizzou, since in the early going he was grabbing offensive rebounds all over the place. Griffin should be able to do that much better than any of Mizzou's bigs, and if DeRozan is still out(he went down with a knee injury midway through the 2nd half) it'll be even easier.

Of course, you could be talking about OU killing Mizzou, and that is likely just as true. It may be worth the attempt to see if Griffin can wear himself out scoring every possession.

Didn't mean to put words in your mouth. Just saying that the two have very similar games and do similar things for their teams. One receives praise from the schools fans for doing all the little things, while the other gets unfairly crapped all over because he isn't Dee Brown and the talent around him sucked.

i think that they're both role players and they just need to do what they do well and nothing more. i think kramer has understood better up to this point in his career that he's not a scorer, though.

The reason Illinois fans dislike Frazier is because he played over McCamey last year. DMac should have been the starter from the word go. But, Weber is always finding a wart with DMacs game, yet missses the third degree burns in Chester's.

Ahh, that's what happened to Derozan against Seton Hall.

Taj Gibson is like 6'10" and 50 lbs, Griffin is going to eat him alive.

umm no

Let's see Frazier averaged .8 steals a game last year in 33 minutes while Kramer averaged 2.3 in 29 minutes. Frazier might be a good defender but Kramer is ridiculously good. He not only makes people shoot bad but he gets a lot of steals.

Then offensively Frazier is a liability while Kramer is someone who just doesn't shoot much (probably because he works the defense so much). Frazier has never even shot 36% in a season while Kramer's lowest is .430 his freshman year. In other words Kramer can score when needed and when left open Frazier just simply can't.

So to sum up Kramer is a better shooter, defender and a much better player all around. He is also the clear team leader.

Kramer is just a better athlete. I really like Kramer's game a lot.

That's what he rely's on. He was all-state in basketball, the team's starting QB (a scrambler with almost 1000 yards rushing) and the team's starting shortstop. Everytime I watch a game and he makes a play I think about what he could be if his legs weren't complete crap.

Weber always is tough on the most talented, and McCamey has had attitude problems and problems with working hard in practice. His method seemed to work pretty well with Deron. It's not fair to blame Frazier for Weber's coaching philosophy.

That makes a lot more sense, because there really wasn't any contact or abnormal landing on the play he hurt himself on. He was having a strong game too.

i'm going to have to come to chet's defense, here.

kramer gets more steals and shoots a better percentage.

however, chet is a better ball handler, distributer, and rebounder. as far as team leader, i believe that they were saying today on btn that the players call chet "coach frazier" (maybe they call kramer "mr. athletic director" at purdue, i wouldn't know). like i said, they're both role players and it's comical to say that either is "ridiculously good". haha.......hahahahaha.

for the most part - and i say this with no knowledge of this dude's game - players who average a lot of steals are weak one-on-one defenders
