Is there any outcry for a weekly college basketball thread? I preferred the way we've done it the past few years with the catch-all college basketball thread (which is still on the first page). If people like this format better, let me know or else I'm going to merge the two threads and we'll stick with one thread for the regular season.

I would think it would get way to big. a general college basketball thread will have everything from rankings argued to people posting about games. Every week I would imagine that would get to be 10 pages or so. I could be wrong though.

Miami played great defense and Jrue Holiday was in foul trouble and worst of all, UCLA wasn't making their FTs. I was expecting a close game.

 

This team will be a work in progress as they have 5 freshmen and so many role players from last season having to step up in bigger roles (Keefe and Aboya starting this year). The key to improvement will be getting better interior play - either from the freshmen or Keefe returning to his Pac-10 and NCAA tourney form from last season.

ISU won't have one of their starting(?) guards for the first few weeks either, so I'm just hoping they hold serve in November.

 

Looks like I was wrong about this part. Staiger will likely make his long awaited debut tonight, and hopefully give ISU a boost from the perimeter. 3pt% is going to be critical this year.

F - Craig Brackins

F - Alex Thompson

 

Lots of depth this year (until half the team transfers again), so I expect this to change frequently. Brackins might be the only player that has job security right now.
