Dempster might win 20 games . . . at home. I think everyone is gladly eating crow there.

Despite my loss, I'm still in playoff position into the second half of the season. That's the first time I've been in the top three this late in the season.

oh man, are the hand sanitizers gunning for you...just one game back, racking up a big points advantage on you...three straight weeks over 300...highest scorer in the league over the past three weeks...BLOOD IS IN THE WATER AND YOU ARE SCARED.

I have to admit I'm a bit pissed off seeing the Jake Peavy trade this morning. I had better packages to offer for Peavy, and J Fishbulb never bothered to respond to anything I sent him.

If it's something personal, I can take it. Just tell me you don't like me and you refuse to make any trades with someone you don't like so I can quit wasting my time. But, to just simply ignore trade offers and private messages sent through Roadkill is not cool.

Am I overvaluing my own players? I would have given up Jacoby Ellsbury, Johnny Cueto and one of Alexei Ramirez, Carlos Gonzalez or Max Scherzer for Peavy. Heck, I might have added even more just to make the deal happen. Instead, Voodoo gets Brandon Jones, Andy LaRoche and Jose Tabata? I would hope Voodoo at least got a draft pick included in that deal.

Seriously? Wow!

Hey, Juan. Wanna make a deal for Peavy?

yeah, i hope there's a draft pick in there.

i don't know what magic button juan pushed to get that guy to respond to a trade offer, but congrats, i guess. jose tabata and andy laroche? really?

and yeah, juan, i'm willing to give you much more than you gave up to get peavy.

I'll admit.. I too had offers out to Fishbulb, but got no response so I eventually just revoked the offers. That being said, I was able to go down another avenue and get Oswalt from Juan...

Well, that's the point we're trying to make. Juan has been extremely busy during this baseball season, yet he still makes time to swing a deal or respond to messages sent to him.

i kinda like juan's open trading proposal thing from a while back.

I don't. I like 16 owners all willing to hit the approve or decline button on trade proposals. I don't think it's all that much to ask.

On June 14th, I sent this message to J Fishbulb through Roadkill:

"I sent you a trade offer yesterday morning and I haven't heard anything from you yet. I have all kinds of exempt talent to offer for Peavy if he's really on the market. Here is a quick list of exempt players I have available:

Jacoby Ellsbury, Johnny Cueto, Aaron Laffey, Max Scherzer, Carlos Gonzalez, Ian Stewart, Alexei Ramirez, Carlos Marmol, Brian Barton, Wladimir Balentien. Feel free to counter if the proposal doesn't interest you."

I don't know of many managers who aren't active though. Matt stays active through Roadkill... just doesn't post here. Otherwise, I've never had a problem with anyone besides Fishbulb....

There was a first round draft pick included and andy laroche is not slouch. I asked fishbulb about the trade offers - he says he doesn't respond frequently because the offers are so ludicrously bad. Having seen some offers from people on here, I can believe that without too much trouble.

I don't disagree that I've received some horribly bad offers (ie: Ankiel) but I'd like to know either way if an offer that I make is even being considered...

that's a [expletive] reason not to respond to offers, in my opinion. and personally i think the players offered by raw and brian are probably better than what you gave up and certainly not so ridiculous to warrant being ignored.

If the offers are ludicrously bad, then say so. It takes so little effort to hit the decline button it's not even funny. With that being said, I'll be sure to ignore any trade offer he ever sends me, since that's apparently his idea of a common courtesy.

And for the record, he's the one who loses on this deal. I could have easily topped the package he received for Peavy and would have done so.

It's all good. I just informed Fishbulb that I promised never to inconvenience him again with trade discussion of any kind, and he said he's okay with that.

Now I know not to waste any more of my time with him. I feel better now.
