Anyone hear it? If so, what did he say?

If not (well, either way), I will post a link to a podcast as soon as one is available.

damn, he really wants this team

ETA: and the stadium

Yep. Says he's gonna pull out all the stops.

I really like what I'm hearing and the fact that it's so important to him is encouraging. I could see him doing everything possible to try and sway things in his favor.

Not holding my breath but definitely keeping my fingers crossed.

- The books are coming out very soon. Cuban is an approved prospective buyer.

- Cuban hopes to make a competitive offer, obviously

- The relationship between him and Jerry Reinsdorf isn't nearly as bad as what most people think. He says they agree on 99% of things, calls him a "good guy."

- "Major League baseball has survived a long time without Mark Cuban, they can survive a long time without me."

- Says he's gonna "pull out all the stops."

- Says he's very interested in improving the relationship between the Wrigleyville neighborhood and the Cubs.

- It's important for him to own Wrigley and not for the state to own it.

I still can't believe interested parties haven't rec'd the financial books yet? Talk about dragging this thing on and on...

Hey, cooking books takes time.

Remember when we told everyone we barely broke even in the 90's and blamed it on the White Sox being in the same town? Oh, that's our bad. We actually made a billion dollars. Sorry about the misunderstanding.

Some quotes from Cuban that I liked:

When asked who he would draft: Beasley or Rose

It's like Jessica Biel or Jessica Alba. Try not to think about it because you know you have no shot.

On Sam Smith:

The guy has the brain of a peanut.

The link posted didn't work for me, but if anyone wants to read about it, I found a new one:

If you talk to any of the folks in the NBA, they'll tell you that I'm a great partner, that I bust my butt to try to do what's best for the league," Cuban said. "That's not always what's portrayed in the media. But those who know, know, and I think that will pay off. And if I can come up with a competitive bid for the Cubs, then I think I've got a shot.

My job is to convince everybody involved that not only is it a good financial move to sell to Mark Cuban, but it's also, you know, a good partnership move, that I can add value beyond just my checkbook to not just the Cubs, to not just the city of Chicago, but also to Major League Baseball

Well he can certainly talk the talk to the owners. Whether they give him a chance, and whether he can back it up, is another story. But those are some well-crafted soundbites there; good job, Cuban.
