Match Up Of The Week: Fuzzy Logistics vs. Raw Dawgs

One team alone in first place against a team tied for 1st place in the other division. This one could come down to Rich Harden and Pedro Martinez on Sunday. I really wish I had Matt Holliday back for this match up, but Mike Cameron will be playing in Matt's ballpark later this week. Raws two big scoring days look to be Monday and Wednesday, while Fuzzy looks to set a single day scoring record on Friday with starts by Brandon Webb, Javier Vasquez and Johnny Cueto.

It should be fun, and I'm going to completely miss how it all ends, as I will be working all weekend. Noteables are Matt Kemp for Raw and Geovany Soto and Carlos Marmol for Fuzzy playing in the 5pm Sunday night game. Sorry, that's a 7pm game for you midwestern folks.

Hit by the injury bug. Jackson is day-to-day not expected back until Wednesday. Westbrook is back on the DL. So I put Westbrook on the DL, benched Jackson and picked up Winn to be my Utility guy.

Ugly start for the Quakers this week. I was hoping to be able to hear at least a little of Abuck's profanity :(

the twins need to stop wasting liriano's innings in AAA.

I've been thinking the same thing with Price in high A. Though if I can just make the playoffs and have him as a September callup for the playoffs I will be happy.

I can't see Price lasting more than 2 more starts at Vero.

i either win by 75 or lose by 2. i'd like to somehow spread those points out a bit.

you split the difference nicely last week.

you beat me by more points last week than you're going to score this week.

Alright, I need to confirm whether my roster moves today are legal, as I am not one that likes to skirt or disobey rules. Another [expletive] player on my roster hit the DL today, making my DL better than the team I'm currently running out there everyday. I now have a DL that consists of Matt Holliday, Vernon Wells, Carlos Pena, Kelvim Escobar and Troy Percival.

I moved Pena to my reserve list and signed Aubrey Huff to play 1b. I cut Mike Cameron who I actually had active in my outfield. I sent Aaron Laffey (7 starts) to the minors and called up Wladimir Balentien to take Cameron's roster spot. Technically, I now have 2 guys in my new line up and I'm not sure if that's allowed. I had already cut Cameron before I realized I could still send Laffey to my minor leagues and to get him back now would cost my waiver order slot.

Had I known beforehand that I could just send Laffey to the minors, I would have just done that rather than cutting Cameron. It's probably too late now to get Cameron back, so I need confirmation on what I should do?

EDA: the moves today were made too late. Cameron will still be in my line up today, but Milwaukee is off today, so the Cameron drop for Balentien won't happen until tomorrow.

EDA#2: The moves were made on time, but Balentien was off today like Cameron was.

I think those moves are fine; you just squeaked by. If Laffey had one more start last year he would have lost minor league eligibility then and you wouldn't have been able to do that.

Whoa. I thought this year was Laffey's first season. Never knew he had any starts prior to this year.

Falling apart at the seems. Not only do my opponents like to set scoring records when they play against my team, but now my team seems to want to all be hurt all at the same time. Ironically, Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez and Milton Bradley are NOT the guys currently on my DL.

My DL: Matt Holliday (hammy), Vernon Wells (wrist), Carlos Pena (hand), Troy Percival (hammy), Kelvim Escobar (shoulder) and now Jacoby Ellsbury (wrist) could be joining them. James Shields is about to get a lengthy suspension for beaning Coco Crisp.

My latest injury move was to cut Percival, move Encarnacion from Utility to 3b, move Braun from 3b to OF, promote Ian Stewart from the minors to Utility and bump the injured Jacoby Ellsbury to my reserve squad. My current line up is no longer the offensive powerhouse it started off to be. But, I am pretty pleased that Milton Bradley is leading the AL in OPS.

But, a line up that features Aubrey Huff, Wladimir Balentien, Edwin Encarnacion and Ian Stewart shouldn't make anyone shudder with fear.

Amazing what you can learn by actually looking at the player's page. :D

Someone needs to take out Crede. He's single-handedly put Juan back into contention against me. A couple of days ago I thought I had it won. Now I think I still have the edge, but it's getting closer than I'd like it to be. I'm one horrendous pitching start away from being in real trouble.

I had that happen to me today. Tim could be leading after tonight if all goes well for him. Good thing I have 2 to 1 starts tomorrow... or is it??

Garland's performance for me toda along with another stinker from Arroyo for Juan may have saved me. And Drew has been almost as hot this week as Crede has. I should be OK unless Santana pitches like it's 2007.

Draconian and I are coming down to the wire...I'm up 0.75 thanks to a Brian Wilson save. Still a lot of games going right now plus I have Loney and Draconian has Kemp and Martin tonight.

I give my team two weeks to pull its head out of its collective arse, then it is time to start selling.

Juan, what will the keeper limit be this offseason?
