Howry in (5th) to pitch, Blanco in (7th) to c for the CUBS

 

I never understand why you would double switch for a pitcher that is only going to pitch an inning. Especially when the game could go to extras

and when you are going to use Wood next inning no matter what.

Helton walked

Sullivan struck out swinging

Howry in (5th) to pitch, Blanco in (7th) to c for the CUBS

Atkins, pinch hitting for Stewart, called out on strikes

 

Iannetta flied out to left field

The pitcher's spot is due up first now (bottom of the 8th). Without this double switch, Howry would be gone after 2/3 inning. With the double switch, he can stay in and pitch the 9th.

IF howry does stay in, it's a good move by Lou. If howry is taken out, it's a stupid move by Lou
