The Cubs are playing the wind something fierce the last two days. Home-field advantage.

Eh, they had a homer by Omar Quintalinia. They can't bitch too much about the wind.

I'm not complaining. It's pretty clear they are intentionally trying to go to right today against Rusch.

Well he does pitch away so that isn't a bad strategy to have, the wind is just a bonus.

They're all going right because the cubs are all righties (sans Fuku) and Rusch doesn't have the stuff to pitch inside so he pitches away from righties and they are going with the pitch instead of trying to pull the ball.

I'm not sure what's worse, the camera-work on that one or the center fielder playing 50 feet into the outfield against Soriano.

Yeah, why was Taveras playing a softball CF?

He's got a good arm, too, and Dempster was the runner on 2nd. It was horrible positioning.

It sure looks like it. Soriano went to right in the first inning as well.

Were those pitches to Helton all as close as gameday said they were?

No real big complaints.

Spilboroughs just got hit on the wrist on a check swing. Might be sending out another ambulance for the Rockytops

That hit his hand in a swinging motion. He shouldn't be getting first.

I was thinking the same thing. I also was thinking hand was part of the bat.

Anyone got anything official on that topic?

Thanks for having nothing today Ryan.

He's wild, but he's not super-hittable at this point, HR notwithstanding.

Yeah, but when he does get hit it will hurt cause he will have guys on through his walks.
