I'm really glad I didn't bite on the "50 bucks we don't score again" bet.

How sad is it that the best offense in baseball loses to the great Shawn Chacon?

While we are at it.....when oh when are the Cubs finally going to get smart and NOT pitch to Carlos Lee?? He has been killing Cubs pitching since his White Sox days. Someone in the Cubs organization ought to know this by now.

Tomorrow is going to be an annoying off day...you know we have problems if we lose to the pirates and duke, dumatroit, and malholm this weekend.

And not being able to touch Sampson and Chacon suggests no problems?

Pujols just hit a ball off Chris Young's face.

Tell me Chris Young is still alive and then I'll exhibit relief and start making jokes about Pujols and balls and faces.

It was pretty bad. Young is walking off on his own power. Lots of blood on his jersey. It was scary for a minute there.

Pujols just hit a liner off Chris Young's head. I didn't see it though.

Young was bleeding out his head, in the middle of the forehead right above the eyebrows.

From a flesh wound, or from his eyes? Geez, an injury like that will ruin your career.

Meanwhile, Sheets pitches a 1 run complete game and Bartolo soap dropping Colon picks up a win. Its just a matter of time before Hendry empties out the farm to give Trashel another stint.

Sheets threw 123 pitches. I'd say that benefits the Cubs. Hooray for Ned Yost.

From the wound, it hit him where the bone is closest to the skin on the forehead, above the bridge of the nose. He was bleeding pretty good for a bit, but he should be fine.

Capital!
