Considering he's an IL HS product, I figured some people here would have some insight on him. What's he throw? What's his ceiling? Will he be available at 19?

Jake Odorizzi is a 2008 RHP with a 6'2'', 175 lb. frame from Highland, IL who attends Highland HS. Athletic build, some strength. Fluid low effort delivery, stays closed, some drift, 3/4 release. Steady low 90's FB, SL is nasty at times, short and late with power, CB shows same quality. Change flashes plus action/plus sink. Shows command/idea. Top Level prospect. Excellent student, signed with Louisville. Going to get a ton of scouting attention this spring, potential early pick.

He pitched today gave up 1ER which was surprising, last I had heard Highland was up 2-1 in the 4th (of course the game has been over for some time.

I live 10 miles from highland (go there for walmart runs sometimes). I've been hearing about this kid for a while now. Has been really impressive and has a lights out fastball (for a high school kid).

Jake will likely be throwing on Friday 10:00 in Joliet at Silver Cross Field, if he's not throwing (which means Highland is saving for the championship) then he'll be at SS. I'd be shocked if he's not throwing tomorrow, though.
