I shouldn't keep harping on this, but Zambrano with virtually an identical start to Gallagher's first start, which was almost universally praised as good.

What similarities are there besides earned runs?

Four innings, one run before falling apart in the fifth and leaving with the bases loaded. End result, 4 innings vs. 4.1 innings, 4 ER vs. 4 ER, 1 UER.

Seems pretty similar to me.

Well, except Gallagher hadn't started in about 2 weeks, found out he was starting 2 hours before game time, was making his 1st ML start, and he obviously ran out of gas. None of those should be issues for Z and that was why Gallagher was given a pass in his 1st start.

Damn you, Nady.

As soon as Cedeno hit it and Pat's voice sounded like it might drop, I knew it was going to be caught. It's just that kind of day today.

Once in a while I'd like Nady to, y'know, NOT catch the ball when he trips and falls while going towards the gap. Edited by BCVM22

I'm kinda impressed with Eyre so far. In 2006 he was our setup guy. He might be better suited for full innings if he keeps this up

Wind knocked it down, but a better LFer doesn't have to dive for it.

Hillenmeyer's main skills are the ability to stand in a spot and not miss tackles. He's amazingly lucky to have lucked into that job, there aren't too many schemes in all of football where he starts.

For anyone that cares, the Cardinals have put a 4 spot on the board in the 5th and lead the Rays 7-3. Still batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs.

Theres no reason this should happen.

They've now finished beating on Garza for the day. Inning finally over.
