I have a bad feeling about all these LOB.

It's what happens when you lead the league in OBP.

Get used to it.

Yep, 9 (or hopefully 8) outs are going to be made by the Cubs to end innings. That will happen EVERY ballgame. Teams with high OBP will have runners on the bases when those outs are made.

That makes sense. I am not great at math, especially when I have such vapid experience with runners on base from the past three seasons.

maybe Dempster will give us one of those patented Dempster 9th innings where he walks the bases loaded gives up 2 and sneaks away with the win?

Ever since someone posted the Cubs being 8th in MLB in strikeouts they seem to be determined to climb back to the top.

16 baserunners in 7 innings should lead to more than 4 runs being scored.

yeah, so? this is one of 162 games.

there are bound to be days when you leave runners on base.

Did I say otherwise? All I said was that I don't like the way it's unfolding today.

Aren't we going to keep starting Dempster? Then why let him go above 100 pitches? He's looked more vulnerable the last 2 innings. What's the point? Will anyone remember his 'complete game' next week?

You are not Dusty Baker. Stop trying to kill our starting pitchers.

I'm not all that worried about 31 year olds. The PC thing is a lot bigger with younger pitchers.

That said, I could go either way on letting Dempster stay in.
