Go Brewers. I have no qualms about it. I'd root for the Cardinals if needed.

My ultimate Cubs fan shame: I was in St. Louis on an unrelated matter during the 2006 World Series. Being a small-town kid who doesn't get to the big city too often, I hung outside the stadium for Games 4 and 5 of the World Series listening to the game on the radio and watching the jumbotron for replays.

When it got to game 5 and the chance that I could actually be present when a World Series ended, I rooted for them to win pretty hard. Then when they did, I walked quietly back to my hotel through a throng of cheering Cardinals fans feeling very empty and dirty.

Pujols crushes one that would be the longest home run I've ever seen in regulation at Miller Park. Sosa hit a few further during the HR derby there, though.

I saw Hee Seop hit one off the scoreboard in 2003 that would be longer than Pujols's if stretched out. But Albert killed that thing.

Under normal circumstances I'd be rooting for the Cards, but I'm not so sure. I think that if the Brewers slide goes on much longer there's a good chance that Yost gets the axe, and I think it is very much in the Cubs best interest to keep Yost in this division.

I really don't mind the idea of the Brewers getting buried early. I have little, if any, fear of the Cardinals being around for much longer.

yeah i wonder how reds fans would've felt if you'd told them "hey you're hiring dusty baker and you're regularly going to see jerry hairston jr., corey patterson and paul bako in your starting lineup."

Wellemeyer drives in a run. Yep, these are the Cardinals.

I thought the same thing, but Lilly did have a big hit for us today to tie it, too.

I would say why couldnt Dusty have put this lineup against the Cubs, but 4 of those guys hit 6 homers off our guys.

James Shields has a shutout working through 9. It's going to the bottom of the 9th with no score. He's only given up 1 hit, 0 walks, and 8 k's. He's also only thrown 92 pitches so he should be able to go at least 10 if the Rays don't score here. When is the last time a pitcher went 11 innings?

Longoria walkoff shot.

The Rays are such an awesome story this season. You just can't suck forever. And it's a victory for defensive improvements as a way to turn around a team

And they're only going to get better. Not only in the next few years, but also this year. Garza and Kazmir have contributed absolutely nothing so far and they're still, what, 3 games over .500 now? I live near Tampa and there's a lot of good feelings going on right now, for the first time EVER.

Wow, a Cub-esque inning for the Brewers.

R Braun singled to center.

P Fielder singled to deep right center, R Braun to third.

C Hart grounded into fielder's choice to shortstop, R Braun out at home, P Fielder to second.

B Hall grounded into double play, second to shortstop to first, C Hart out at second.

Neat.
